Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your cousin's daughter.

I'm sure she'll pull through and make a speedy recovery. These things happen to the best people because they're the people who can cope with it. I'm sure her youth will be of an advantage for the healing process.

God bless.

Edit to add: meanwhile, be there for your cousin. She'll be going through a worse time than her daughter as she has all the worry on her mind. She'll need someone there for her.

I watched a program where this boy had half his brain removed, he recovered and is totaly fine now. It's amazing what children can recover from.

Kimmie,

My friend's daughter had a brain tumour at the age of 2. She had to go to America for treatment, but is now, 13 years later, doing very well and leads a normal life. My thoughts are with you and the family, and please feel free to PM me if you need any support or advice.

Be thankful she was diagnosed and treated in time.I read this week of a little boy who was taken 8 times to Drs/Hospital over a 7 month period with all the symptons of a brain tumour,ie.. violent headaches, dizziness, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss etc. He was sent home each time with advice, treatment for either migraine, tummy bug, eating disorder. It was even suggested he saw a psychiatrist for behavioural problems! This went on for several months until his Mum insisted on a brain scan. She was told there was a 3 months waiting time! She managed to get him a scan sooner, but to no avail. It was too late. He had a brain tumour, but the operation revealed it had spread down his brain stem to his spine. He died 5 weeks later. He was 6 years old.We can only guess at the suffering that little boy endured. It makes me cringe. He was a lovely child, and my heart goes out to the family, and all of you who are going thru similar experiences.<See Daily Mail. Sat Sept 9th>

Kimmie- I hope everything works out the way it's meant to- cancer isn't always the end of the world that people think it is, and treatments have been improved so much over the last few years. I have my fingers crossed for your whole family.

My brother was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 3 and he's almost 16 now.

It's not been easy and he's had a lot of treatments, but with the love of family and friends he's now doing well.

My thoughts are with you, your cousin and the rest of your family.

I'd also recommend you speak to PACT, there website is:

http://www.naccpo.org.uk/members/pact.htm

They were an absolute GODSEND.

Good luck for the future.

<hugs>

Kimmie.. By the sounds of things, she's a little fighter, and also, she has her loving family around her to give her strength when she has none..
It's not going to be an easy ride for her or any of your family, I know as my dad went through chemo, it was tough..But there is light at the end of the tunnel, and in a few years time, when she's running round being a little monkey herself, you'll somehow forget, just for a moment, what she and your family have gone through..
Sending more virtual hugs to you and your family (((((((HUGS)))))))
