It depends on what gig it is, at the weekend as they usually go into clubnights they are 18+.

I would just assume that if it doesnt say then it would be 18+ otherwise give them a ring and ask!

Yeah its 18+

I get asked for ID anyway. Aren't most clubs?

I think there a few clubs that hold under 18 nights.

How old are you?

Not all gigs are 18+ at the Plug, the show tomorrow night is 16+. It really does depend on whether there is a clubnight after. If you have any doubt email me at tom.w@the-plug.com

:hihi: I know how you feel. I turned 18 in March and I'm loving it!!

Not long to go now, the 2 years will fly by. For now though, try anyway! Once you're in, you won't be asked when buying drinks or anything.

Try and get on the guestlist as they rarely ask you then, not when I've been anyway - and I look under 18!

that guest list thing doesnt work, the door staff can still ID you, and you can still get ID'd at the bar, especially if you have a bus pass still in your wallet! lol

LOL.....be assured whether you are on the the guestlist or not, you will certainly be asked for I.D. Plug operate a Challenge 21 system, as does most reputable venues within the city, which means that if you look under 21 - you will be asked for I.D. - failure to provide it will mean refusal of entry.

Harsh - but true....

Im 24 and still get asked for ID roughly once every couple of weeks! They say I should take it as a compliment, but to be honest, I'd rather get in the club that be told I look youthful by a big burly bouncer!

LOL Yeah I hate be told I look young...I know I won't be sayin that at 30 but still!
Yeah they do say they ask if you look under 21 but about 30 people in my year go regulary to plug and leadmill and in my opinion not all of them look 18 nevermind 21...unfair lol

I know walkabout have taken this one step further to a challenge 30 policy, anyone under 30 is ID'd.

And a few times (I'm 19) I've got IDd on the door, to then be IDd by the bar. Usually amuses me as it means the door staff are probably crap :P.

The reason bar staff will ID someone, even if the doorsatff have ID'd them is because the bar staff are personally liable for who they serve. Not only does the bar recieve a fine but the bar tender will receive a fine as well.

I know thats the main reason, I serve alcohol at work and we've been lectured and made to do a nice little test (most pointless 10 minutes of my life) on the rules and regulations, but generally bar staff will trust door staff unless they have a reputation for letting in mates, fit teenagers, whatever :)

the only place I know that allows under 18's is corporation, they let people in from 14+ until a certain time
