I'm a bit of a cheese monster and I'm getting a bit bored of the cheese's around at the moment.
Does anybody know of a farmer or small company in or around sheffield that makes it's own cheese.

Have you tried the Hartington Creamery? it's only a 30 minute drive away and usually has something different in the way of cheeses; or try the Cheese Factor in the market place in Chesterfield, if you can't find it ask anyone where the "pound a bag man stands" he is outside of it, and they always have something to tickle the taste buds.
owdlad.
There's a couple of cheese people who have stalls on the farmers market - next one is this sunday (25th).
Also Heely City farm I think produces some cheese.
If you want something different then check out some of the deli's around Sharrowvale road + Buon Deli in Broomhill.
Tesco has an extensive cheese range. My particular favourite is a creamy variety called Dairylea which comes in handy triangular wrapped portions in a round carton.A bit fiddly to open but well worth the trouble. And keeps for ages.
Avoid the smelly Deli varieties -you don't know where they have come from.

I want to keep away from from the supermarkets if possible and as much as I love dairylea I prefer Laughing Cow.
Have you got more info about Hartington Creamery as that is the sort of thing I'm looking for.
This should help

Try the Manor Lodge Dairy - very tasty feta style & curd cheeses. Some are plain, others are mixed with sun dried tomatoes, or herbs & peppers.
Can be bought from Sheffield Wildlife Trust HQ on Stafford Road, S2, or from the farmers market on the Moor - think the stall is opposite Argos.
Failing that, ring Helen at The Green Estate (who manage the dairy) on 0114 276 2828

If all else fails try mixing your regular cheeses with stuff from the fridge, I like:
Stilton and dried apricots/cranberry sauce
Adding fresh basil leaves into sarnies - can do with mozzerella di buffalo or even good olde red leicester.
