View Full Version : Amazon, good experiences or bad??
I have ordered through Amazon a few times with different results but this time is getting ridiculous, I think its because I live in Holland and they have changed there delivery method to DHL. It seems that DHL have tried to delivery my package 3 times and left a postcard, no postacrd to be seen in my letterbox, I was also provided with a tel number of the sorting office in Amsterdam and the number does not work.
I reply to the email to tell them this and they email address I reply cannot be used to reply to. So I have to go back to the website and send the email via that.
There is also no number i can call, or is there?
Please:help: i've been waiting over a week for and express delivery now!
I've stopped using them unless I have to. www.play.com is cheaper and better.
I will certainly try them next time! cheers

I've always had fantastic service with Amazon including very quick responses when i needed to return something that was faulty. It seems in your case it is more to do with DHL than Amazon itself.
Very good overall but didn't help me at all when I got into a dispute with a con artist on there

I would tend to agree and I beleive play.com is UK only. I have had no trouble with amazon.co.uk delivering to the states at all.
bananapie 06-09-2006, 20:11 I've had no problems at all with Amazon. Delivery is always very quick.
I've had no problems with Amazon itself, always been very quick to process orders and send them out. The one time I've had to do a return the process was easily managed and I was happy with the replacement.
The delivery service is appalling though. When you aren't in for the delivery they just leave it anywhere and don't leave a card telling you where it is.
I have had no probs with them EVER!! In fact only recently I ordered some stuff which in total spend qualified for free delivery - then I received an email to confirm part of my order was no longer available - but they still sent the rest free of charge!!
:)

Sweetcheeks 06-09-2006, 21:34 I`ve bought many CD`s from Amazon and Amazon.Com. via their Marketplace dealers, and have had no problems at all. All the dealers have been very speedy with the shipping and provide great value for money.

Very true they do just leave amazon parcels anywhere. i live in a block of flats and many a time i've come back to my flat having been out all day to find a parcel just outside my door where anyone could have took it. i've also walked past parcels in amazon packaging in the flat stairway before and if i was dishonest could have took them.... however, surely this is the fault of royal mail who deliver for amazon, not amazon itself?

I'd agree, the Royal Mail is getting a bit shabby  Knock once and run must be their motto for recorded delivery

Oh I agree totally, it's not Amazons fault the delivery is pap. That’s why I said I hadn't had any problems with Amazon itself, they have always been excellent. Sounds as though yours and your neighbours situation is worse than mine though. We've had packages left in the blue bin, the shed and at neighbours. If I’m expecting a package then I have to go hunting for it.
Solomon1 06-09-2006, 22:05 All my experiences with amazon have been excellent. Good quality items in excellent condition, delivered promptly and at very reasonabl prices.
it is inland uk delivery though. if i am not going to be at home when they deliver, i've always given my work address in the past, so that they can deliver for certain.
