Have a chew over the loose ends at:
http://www.officialconfusion.com/77/
Some of the points resemble some of the 9/11 issues, eg:
- why was prior surveillance of suspects discontinued?
- a terrorism exercise/drill just happened to be running at the same time as the real thing (as with Operation Vigilant Guardian on 9/11 - seen as a means of causing confusion for officials not in the know)
- why have only 3 CCTV images of the bombers ever been released - out of the dozens which must exist?
- some witnesses suggest that the bombs seemed to explode under the carriages
- some dealers appeared to make money by selling the pound short in the days prior to the bombings.

the mastermind of 7/7 was apparently in the employ of mi6 - thats where the police were unable to get to him (at least then, dunno what he's up to now)

Whilst conspiracy theories appeal to the Machiavelli in us all, to suggest that these terrorist bombing were masterminded by our Government is jsut crazy.
For the family and friends of the treacherous bombers, it'd be nice to think that they could blame it on the Government but it's not true. They were there and I think most reasoning people accept that they did it.
Shock Horror - Rubydazzler and Halibut in agreement about something....
The idea that it was a government plot is utterly absurd and ludicrous as is anyone who believes it was.

^ not a government plot as such.
it is possible it occurred with governmental complicity though...
If the government had organised it it would have failed.
End of conspiracy.
What would be the point? Is anyone more likely to vote for the Labour Party because of it?
I don't subscribe to the crackpot ideas that the US attacks were a conspiracy, but at least you can see how the yanks will vote for a right wing president when they are attacked. In the UK we have been under constant terrorist attack for decades and through many governments.

Whilst it makes sense to think that a huge terrorist attack can be beneficial for the govt in terms of getting some of its policies through, I just dont see any evidence of collusion or prior knowledge.
I think its safe to say that many of the shortcomings can be simply described as Govt and organisational incompetency, which in itself is nothing new.

i heard that the apparent terrorists were alive and kicking with nothing to do with the terror attacks. most things these days are conspiracies or have other theories behind them. i dont believe the media anyway
You must ask yourself who is making such claims that "the apparent terrorists were alive and kicking with nothing to do with the terror attacks". ;)

That's of no importance whatsoever. The government of the country isn't in the hands of the elected politicians except for the few cronies the Prime Minister appoints to senior cabinet rank - and even these are often ignored when it comes to policy. Margaret Beckett is a case in point.
Most of the decisions are made by the unelected advisors the PM chooses to listen to. Even in such weighty matters as going to war these people have far more influence than sitting MPs and the cabinet and it doesn't appear to make a lot of difference whether we have a tory or labour govt. - we'll probably never know about the Lib-Dems.

I'm getting worried now, I agreed with DonKiddick about something the other day too, and I think I even said Cyclone was right on a thread last week.
Has the world turned on its axis without my knowledge and I'm living in a parallel universe? :o
