Right had a 6800 GT(AGP slot) which went down last week. Ordered a new 7600 PCI-E off dabs.com. Problem is it wont fit into the AGP slot. Yet the instructions asks for card to be fitted to PCI or AGP express slot. My PC is only 2 years old. Looking on dabs now all AGP cards are prehistoric. wtf is going on lol.

If it's a PCI-E card it will only fit a PCI Express slot, not an AGP slot.

Have you got a link to the card on dabs.com?

The instructions are generic for both cards, the PCI-E version and the AGP version. You have bought the wrong card. The best card you can get for AGP would be the Nvidia 7800 GS+ AGP I think. Make sure it's the AGP version though!

AGP is being phased out, you might notice that pretty much all new motherboards are PCIe only. There are some that have both AGP and PCIe for graphics but they're pretty rare. Also PCIe is not PCI!

Nah, I had my 16k spectrum for 6 months before I needed the 48k expansion pack. A year later I was on the 128k +2, then on to the harder stuff.

The timing isn't different, but you can get addicted to upgrading too easily...

**Goes out to mug people until I can get 2 2GB sticks of DDR2**

You watch, today it's a graphics card, in a fortnight you'll be rooting through Cray's bins for anything with a DIMM.

Asrock do motherboards which use both slots if you're considering upgrading your motherboard. Although depending on what CPU you have you might have trouble sourcing one for older CPU socket types.
