Then as I passed each side road I noticed a Police bike sat there, there were several about and a couple coming down the other side of the road. They will be looking out for untaxed cars, roadworthiness and other offenders. Pook 05-09-2006, 12:05 he was probably going 2 miles over the limit. Armed response for that heinous crime these days..... dan_999uk 05-09-2006, 12:28 Oooooohhhh, those sour grapes must taste so bitter... NPB! 05-09-2006, 17:21 True though Dan, pity they can't respond as fast when you are burgled dan_999uk 05-09-2006, 18:31 No - but you should see them go when it's something interesting lol. lalaland 06-09-2006, 07:48 True though Dan, pity they can't respond as fast when you are burgled There's no point in a fast response if the burglary has already occured, not if it takes officers away from other shouts that may actually be occuring at the time or more urgent. They have to prioritise and going to someone's house to take a statement isn't normally as high up as preventing a crime from taking place. If the burglary was actually in progress and the people still on site you'd get a quick response. Betty1 06-09-2006, 07:56 Have to agree on this one. A few years ago, a neighbours house was being burgled - we rang the police and had hardly put the phone down and they were there ! They apprehended the burglars too ! Nice one ! tallpaul 09-09-2006, 03:08 Probably the new road crime unit. It's an elite group of traffic cops who target car thieves, uninsured drivers etc etc.. They have 'high performance' marked and unmarked cars...according to the news the other day |
