Being woken up to the sound of one of my cats purring in my ear.

The smell of Merlin's fur when he's been in the sun - he smells of warm digestive biscuits.

A long, cool shower after a run.

Finding a fantastic yarn bargain on Ebay, and winning the auction.

Tesco's finest chocolate cheesecake. Yum.

Glancing over to a work colleague that has only 1 arm. She has 2 kids, works part time (3 x 10 hour days), she brings in home baked buns once a week, has the most amazing and infectious laugh, and always has a smile on her face. Up until having her right arm amputated, she was right handed and has had to learn to use the other arm.

I realise how lucky I am and more importantly how lucky we are to have someone like this girl around us.

Mine.

Pure silence and coming home from work late to the freedom of the house.

Taking out my nephews, watching them and partaking in playing football. They have the misfortune of being brought into dysfunctional families and being there as a father figure and giving them some degree of normality is great.

Going to my nans, and marvelling at her incredible personality and her geniune love and care for all around her. She has made massive sacrifices for her family in the past and harbours no regret. A true inspiration.

Mastering the technique of doing good turns for people with expectation of reward.

Spending time with my differant groups of friends and having fairly harmless fun.

Most herbal highs will have a combination of ingredients that usually include ephedra, a less marketable psychoactive with effects not dissimilar to amphetamine.

Best natural high? Well the autumn is shaping up to be warm and wet, so I guess it has to be the sorcerers saprophyte.

It does work but you need more and it takes longer to act. The salvia joints are rubbish but the actual solids are pretty good. Go and have a chat with him tell him what you're looking for and hel'll sort you out.

Stepping out of the tent on a campsite in the west of France and breathing in the smell of early morning pine trees, sand and fresh air.

The sound of heavy crashing waves, then receeding over the sand.

Children singing en masse.

Seeing people put their heart and soul into something they really believe in.

Tribal drumming.

HAHA the best one I can think of is when they had just put new bus stops in at the botom of the moor i think it was, in july i think. And they had put all the glass pains in apart from one and my mate went to lean on the bustop and he just fell straight through the bus stop (just like in that mint advert really) was hilarious - you could hear people really far away laughing at him let alone people right next to him.

I'd have to go with either laughing so hard it hurts, getting a bargain on ebay or when you've not driven in a few days, and it feels like new again and even though your just going 30mph it seems really fast. Great feeling.

I watched the stars as a meteor storm causes a display of shooting stars above... and then I watched the sun rise over the desert... all I could hear was the sea crashing on the beach in the distance... alone in complete darkness but for the heavens above...

amazing... awe inspiring...

wow livestrong! how jealous am i?! :)

did you know that in this part of your poem.....

"what at first glance appeared to be clouds,
were constellations... orchestras of light"

that it was the milky way you were looking at? on a clear night, free of light pollution, it does indeed look like a cloud from the sheer density of stars.

Difficult to imagine, isn't it, that that's our solar system and that the sun is in the very centre of that swirl of stars and planets!

When my 3 month old son recognizes my voice and looks around the room for me :suspect: Then when he sees me and smiles without any prompting :D

It makes my chest feels like it's going to burst and I have to stop myself crying and laughing at the same time

Also, when I accidently hear any of my fave old dance track friom when I used to go out every weekend for the whole weekend. Doesn't matter where i am when I hear one of em. I always start dancing

Making my gf laugh so much she squeals :hihi:

Last minute winners in really important games.

Sledging down a really steep hill on a really good sledg/bin lid.

The water flume thing at Pleasure Island in Ingoldmells. It's really for kids but if you go to Ingoldmells/Skegness have a go on it with your gf or mate. It's so fast it's actually dangerous. I had to slow us down to stop us flying out of the top of it on a really tight bend. It made my gf squeal (see above).

Laying on the beach at Kalutara in Sri Lanka with my gf watching the sun go down.

When I tought my nephew how to climb the wall at the bottom of his road to get to the short cut to the football pitches. He's a big kid and has a lot of confidence issues. When he finally mastered it his face was a picture and he ran off to play football with his mates. Priceless.

There's probably loads more but these are the ones fresh in mind at the moment.

When my three month old babies try to 'talk'. Bless!!!!

Being with my honey.

Time on my own.

When people say what lovely children I have.

Being told I'm still hot at 40 ;)

ALL my lovely friends.

A good night's sleep.

Stupendous sex.

When my hair goes 'right' :hihi:

Getting into clothes the next size down.

Kick-ass dance music.

Dreaming of the future.

Having my back/chest rubbed & foot massage
Opening a jar of coffee for the first time
that tired but relaxed feeling after exercise
hearing a piece of music that 'makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end'
Smell of autumn

flying back into london on a crystal clear night and seeing the whole city spread out like a bejeweled, gold-encrusted cloak below.....twinkling and sparkling as far as the eye could see. absolutely amazing.

Waking up on a weekend morning and looking at the many photo's of our kids around the house from little boys to the strapping young men they are now a mixture of pride that they are out fending for themselves in the big bad world and knowing the phones unplugged so they cant ring to lend owt gives me a warm glow
