Howdo.
I have Windows Live Messenger installed on our family PC.
When my mother logs into her Windows account.for the PC itself, not messenger, it automatically logs me into Windows Messenger, the old version, not live, the bog standard version!
I can't find out how to stop it from logging in MY name, it's causing all sorts of confusion, as you can imagine, she's not very computer literate.
Could anyone shed some light on this situation before she throws me out the house?
Ta velly mucho. :D

I'm sure there's something on the options tab of messenger if you have a root around.
Hope you get sorted.
:)
Edit: Tools, options, general. Untick box. Sorted :)

Theres the thing, it seems that theres the standard version installed, PLUS the windows live!
I can't find the standard version on add/remove programs, so therefore unable to delete it
But I'll go try that now.

Windows Messenger isn't in the normal Add/Remove list, it's in "Add/Remove Windows Components".
Hope this helps.
Personally, I wouldn't remove Windows Messenger, as it is useful to have it if anything goes wrong with Windows Live/MSN Messenger, as you can still continue chatting.
Apart from the reason given above, at some time in the past you must have set up a .NET passport on your mum's user account.
If you go into Help and Support, and type in "passport", it will tell you how to change the .NET passport. You may have to search around, but it's there somewhere.

Dont know whether this helps.
In Control Panel, select User Accounts, click on Change an Account, click on your login account, and then on the left click on Manage my network passwords. You should now be presented with a list of accounts, some of which are the accounts listed in the .NET login. And a Remove button.
