I'm looking for a badminton club somewhere around Sheffield City (ie S10 Sports (the gym formally known as Goodwin) , Ponds Forge, etc). Preferably fairly high standard clubs but not too much of a necessity...I just want to play!

Sure do. Have a look on http://www.sheff-bad.co.uk/. It's the website for the Sheffield and District league, and has all of the contact details for the majority of clubs in South Yorkshire.

You could also have a look on Fixtures Live (http://www.fixs.co.uk) as they have a list of Badminton Clubs in England.

Thanks for the mention Willman, we now play every Wed at Concord from 8pm. £4.50 for 90 mins. We don't have any real beginners, but don't count ourselves as expert either, however we do have one or two that can play a decent smash and will throw in a drop shot when you least expect it!
