Kingdom Night Club is shutting down in september, as a regular there I can't wait.

Is this true, how do you know, its rude to get peoples hopes up.

I know people who know people and those people tell thier friends and those friends tell there friends and so on and so on.

I know this guy that works there and they have told the staff. apprantley it's to small so there closing down and moving to either rotherham or doncaster.

:o thought they was moving to roxys!!

kingdom are not closing, although they are doing a refurb, taking the kitchen out and making an extra room, it is going to be a RnB room

firstly...... rotherham have trist (owned by brook leisure)

Well the facts are that if the New Retail Quarter happens (big if) Kingdom will disappear in a heap of rubble, so at that point it will probably be what is technically known as 'closed' ;)

Well thats a question you should ask brooke leisure centre but I guess the best reason is money.

The last time I was at Kingdom on a Friday night it was jam-packed!! and that was only a few weeks ago! :cool:

On the grapevine First Leisure (who owned Club Wow) and Heaven & Hell have shown an intrest in the old Roxy Disco.

As for Kingdom it used to be a great club right up to a couple of years ago but the place is just dyer now trhe sticky carpets, the vingar smell as you walk up the stairs, the lack of "Variety" in the place as well. It does get kinda busy on Saturdays but on friday nights Kingdom is lucky if it's gets half-full. I've come to a point that I'd rather go & watch paint dry then go to Kingdom.

yes it is tacky, and overpriced on weekends........
but its a good laugh
very convenient, and is relatively known as HOME

and as stated before people?? dont think ur attending kingdom if u thihnk it is busy fridays......... there desparate for people to come in and thats why there are so many guest litsts, special offers etc

I understand Rob but because of going to Kingdom on a regular basis has just bored me, I feel like spending my money down the drain when I went to Kingdom every weekend. Sweet Tony is right it's "Same sh*t different weekend" - that why I haven't been since Easter Sunday and I have no itentions of going there either in the present future. I'm not saying I'll won't be going again just that I need a break from the place and to explore other avenues.

Hi everyone! I haven't been on here in ages!

Robbie is telling the truth, I know coz I work with him! (Hi M8!)

Kingdom should of been closed by now but the council haven't started any of the developments in that area yet, and the council have to find Brooke Leisure a place for them to move to and pay for Kingdom's loss of interior and profits etc.

The club was empty on that Friday, you might of been in Kingdom Live which is the smaller room.

It is open on Mondays, Wednesday, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. However, Mondays & Wednesdays have now closed until September due to the students being away as they were student only nights.

I don't see how you can say it's the bar staff's fault and aim the blame at all of them! I work behind the bar at Kingdom and I have refused people quite a few times now when they have seemed too intoxicated.

After all, it's for their own good!

Yes, Kingdom isn't the fancy club it once was when it first opened, but the reason why the carpets are so grotty is because it once had a huge number of people attending nearly every night of the week! The carpets in a place like that cost a fortune and to replace them would mean shutting the club, which results in a loss of profit.

It is undergoing a refit in September anyway.

It's not always nessecarily the club at fault but the clientel.

Maybe I just don't see the fights that occur but whenever I'm working there, I hardly ever see any trouble.

I know Kingdom could improve in a lot of ways but sometimes it's not always possible.

hmmmmmm as for the door staff, they are really firiendly when u get to know em.................... its just getting to know them

the carpets i hear have only been there since last september, and i have that from a good source, but can not guarantee that 100%

serving people who are drunk??? sometimes that is better to do than actually refusing them, cause if they start getting rowdy, they will start fighting then, i think a lot of fights come from the pill heads that go in, sadly since the demise of WOW they have all piled too kingdom.........

as for the small room being empty??? the whole club was empty, kingdom need more people in on fridays, but it is nice to see them addressing that and coming up with better offers for fridays

£5 is for £10 voucher and entry,

£10 one is as is stated by you as is £2 one.......

£2 - Just entry

£3 - Entry & a free bottle of fosters or K2 flavour

£5 - Entry & £10 drink vouchers

£10 - Entry & £30 drinks vouchers

well i had my first night at kingdom (work there now) and it was a good laugh, enjoyed myself n the customers arent as u expect them to be. there are more jobs going so if anyones looking for something fun then just lettting u know :)

i'd liken kingdom to roxy - i worked at roxy when i was a student for one night - sooooooo cheesy!! have only been kingdom once but i imagine it to be similar ?? - actually, while working at roxy that night there was these two going at it in full view - she was sat on a stool!!! :o

Hi Bedhead, i work on the bar :) was a good laugh saturday night, was in the cheese room , so was funny, not my bag unless im wasted but didnt get on my nerves. im too young to have gone to roxy, but my dad used to work there, was a bouncer.
wouldnt know trouble wise, but i didnt personally have any, the customers were pretty nice to be honest!

Kingdom is just an awful place to be honest. It used to be really good, then the bouncers decided to enter the "lets be an arsehole" competition, and won hands down!

The place stinks, most of the people that go there do so because nowhere else lets them in, i think the DJ must purchase at the most 3 new tracks a month, the cheesy room never ever has any new music! I think if you went there every week it would be like groundhog day... As someone earlier said, same **** different weekend!

An awful, dreadful place...

I hope it does close... the scum you see on a Fri/Sat night.

by the way I havemt worked there for months!!!! only last a couple of weeks. yeurgh

The Kingdom has been a smear on Sheffield City Centre since it opened.

We gagged at Club Wow, and now have been served up another plateful of cheesy filth.

Kingdom is a magnet for Chavs. It's expensive, it's tasteless, the music is just plain bad and the people in there do not have an ounce of class.
If they knock it down, i'll gladly take up a hammer and help them for free!

As clubs go, it's ideally situated, modern and large. But it's not these factors what make a good club, it's the clientel. All i want tp do is have a drink a dance and a laugh without worrying about some wasted louts with a chip on their shoulder causing trouble for the sake of it.

Kingdom is the perfect example of this!
