View Full Version : Address of Work Permit (UK) in Sheffield gavinstamen 30-08-2006, 19:19 ---------- TattyBear 30-08-2006, 19:42 Yeah, I worked there for 5 years. Its on level 5 in the Moorfoot building at the bottom of the moor. It isnt open to the public. You can phone Moorfoot switchboard on 0114 259 3000 as ask for Work permits UK if you want. There are 4 other buildings in Sheffield for the Home Office in Sheffield but that is the main one. Anything you need to know, I might be able to help after years of working in the Home Office? jen229 30-08-2006, 20:02 There is no public enquiry office in Sheffield, if you go to Moorfoot you will be turned away. Sophieone 30-08-2006, 20:21 There is a customer contact centre at Work Permits (UK) that you can call. Can't remember the number off the top of my head but if you go to the www.workingintheuk.gov.uk site it will be on there I think. If that link is wrong just google 'working in the uk' and the site will come up.:) wendygs 30-08-2006, 21:29 Suggest that if you want any informal advice on how to deal with the Home Office Work Permits section that you may want to send Danielle69 a PM and she might be able to point you in the right direction westilad80 31-08-2006, 08:32 Greeting, I am wondering where about is Work Permit (UK) in Sheffield? Thank you for your help. regards, Gav Gav, Is it WPUK specifically you need, or is it another section? Maybe I can help mate. Grim Reaper 31-08-2006, 19:23 The public number for WPUK in Sheffield is 0114 2074074 - this is the customer contatct centre nobby71 31-08-2006, 20:54 Danielle69, Is that why you left because you couldnt keep information that you werent supposed to make public to yourself lol By the way can you get me a pass into the building and tell me the best place to leave a small plastic device?:gag: rockchin 18-09-2006, 11:00 DANIELLE69: Thanks v. much for offering help. I strongly disagree with nobby71, the modern world has too many cold people like thy. I am sure that you have a very good judgement in what you can or can not tell. I have a question regarding applying for a work permit, hope that you can help me. I have now worked for my current employer for 6 months, they are happy to support me in my application, yet I have to run around myself to complete the whole process. I am considering to hire a representative solicitor to make the application for me, however, a number of friends adviced that some of them were just after the money and could not actually adds much more value to the application. Considering a fee of about £1000, I am really not sure if I should. But like many others, I also fear that I might not be able to make a nice application by myself due to the lack of experience. If you also agree with hire high quality lawyer, which would you recommend based on your experience? Also regarding advertisement, for IT and railway industry, which ad media can make a strong case? Thanks again, jen229 21-09-2006, 19:32 It is your employers responsiblity to complete the application forms for your work permit as it is their application. As for the best advertising media for the IT and railway industry, surely your employer (as this is their industry) would be best placed to know the answer to this. The questions you are asking should be directed to a 'current' work permits (UK) employee, preferably in the customer relations department. Any advice you receive from the good people on this forum (as well meaning as it may be) will not help you as much as information directly from WPUK. The number given by Salster, 0114 2074074 - customer contact centre, is the number you should call and the only place that your questions can be answered correctly. hammo 03-10-2006, 16:16 i used to work for WPUK too, absolute disgrace of a place...i did 4 and half years, loved it as it was a doddle but its bent as a 23 pound note.... hammo 03-10-2006, 16:19 also, your employer applies for the work permit, then if you are in the uk at the time of application, you ned to apply secondly for a change in your immigration to undertake the work permit. Application goes to Atos Origin in Cannock. Forms are on the website. |
