I am due to aquire 4 new little guinea girls 2mrw. I had g pigs when I was little and I have already planned an area for them and got things sorted, but one things I totally forget to check was my kittens! Does anyone know if my 2 cats will take the newcomers under their wing or am I destined for a love hate relationship for the next few years!!! thanks

You need to keep your guinea pigs very secure!! Cats will try anything to get at them. Even if they seem to get on well with them when your back is turned they make make a go for them. My next door neighbours cat continually tried to get in at our guinea pigs when they were out on the lawn. Monitor the guinea pigs behaviour closely as well, if they appear to be scared by the cats or their smell, it isn't really fair to keep the guinea pigs indoors around them.

Very sensible  I have heard of some who get along fine so wouldn't write it off, but never trust a cat!
