Kids and pubs dont mix. Godzilla 29-08-2006, 13:11 You might consider going to the dogs. There are some free tickets available for Tuesdays and Fridays & children get in free. Phone 0114 234 3074 and opt for the marketing dept to enquire about freebies. monerlisa 29-08-2006, 14:44 Why would you want to take kids into a bar anyway? Kids and pubs dont mix. hav u got kids? no baby sitters but still want a life and a few drinks with the hubby! chriswvtr 29-08-2006, 23:56 Nope, no kids, but dont really drink either so if I did it wouldnt bother me. I do however realise that a smoky environment with bad language and potentially intoxicated adults is not good either for the children or the customers who may not feel like they can relax fully with children about. happyhippy 30-08-2006, 00:37 Nope, no kids, but dont really drink either so if I did it wouldnt bother me. Stop being so condescending. As you say, you barely take alcohol and you evidently don't have children: kindly refrain from trolling when a perfectly good question was asked. Indeed, encouraging a decent attitude to alcohol from a young age is to be applauded; the OP just wants somewhere to go with children, as a family. Depends on what area you live in really monerlisa? Deavon 30-08-2006, 01:56 What? Do you not realise that Pubs are one of the last remaining playgrounds where the kids aren't welcome? Pay a baby sitter and then come out for a drink. (Do you really want to take your children to a smokey, boozey, adult language filled bar???) Saffy 30-08-2006, 05:39 want to find a place that lets kids in so we can go out and have a drink in the evening but thats not a dodgy old persons pub. any ideas? Hi .. where abouts are you? Are you able to travel? There are lots of pubs with indoor play areas (and outdoor) for children, so that you are able to enjoy a bit of social life without having to let someone else look after your children, which you may not want to do. Am sure a search on the net will dig some up for you. As for the rest of you who - self righteous ***** !! SL31 30-08-2006, 09:00 We used to go to working mens clubs and pubs with my parents and grandparents!.... nothing wrong with it. Do you have any working mens clubs in your area?, they usually allow children! neeeeeeeeeek 30-08-2006, 09:13 Go to Aunt Sallys or somewhere. Smoke free and usually loads of kids running about unattended. You also get to eat some pretty average food. Banjo Griner 30-08-2006, 11:14 Good call Gypo - and not a million miles from the truth. bladesufc1 30-08-2006, 12:00 want to find a place that lets kids in so we can go out and have a drink in the evening but thats not a dodgy old persons pub. any ideas? there's a pub opposite the areana, forgot its name but they have a kids play in the other room. or irate pete's, EdnaKrabappe 30-08-2006, 12:06 Places like Arena Square and The Storyteller at Rotherham are designed for kids. Kiddy heaven with the ballpool then you can have a drink after? Admiral Rodney is the same. People who go there are generally families, leaving the hardened 'non - childrened' drinkers to our pubs:thumbsup: samc 30-08-2006, 12:07 That one at the top by Owler Bar roundabout The Moorlands??? Got a ball pool area that always looks like it is full of wee. lily1979 30-08-2006, 13:27 Oliver Twist near barnsley is good. Meadowfarm at Ecclesfield. Brewsters near meadowhall retail park. Hollywood ball at centretainment place, there is a bar there so depending on how old your kids are you could pay for them to play bowling while you chill out in bar or join in. monerlisa 01-09-2006, 10:19 thanks for all the people who actually answered my perfectly reasonable question and as for the others who made comments, I didn't ask for your opinions as to whether I should or shouldn't be taking my children into a pub and people like you are exactly the reason why I am asking for CHILD FRIENDLY pubs so that I don't have to put up with the tuts and looks as you judge me! I am sure you are not all white as snow! However, it was nice to start a debate!! |
