Not feeling up to a trek up Edale today :( , a few of us decided to get together for a bit of an easier walk....

12 miles around Froggat, Curbar, Baslow, White Edge has seen us far more stiff and complaining (that's probably just me!) than whatever else was on offer.

However, a really lovely day out. We saw all sorts of wildlife ;), had a pub lunch (a late one) and loads of good views.

Thanks to Grissom, taxman, blip and A N Other for their company.

Long may the SF Walkers' Group continue!

Thanks, as always, to taxman and wendygs for the inspiration. And, as always, please do PM me if you'd like to be included in last-minute impromptu notification of intended walks... :)

Thanx to SHsheff again for invite and for a fab day ! Great to meet taxman and blip !

Feet seem attached to legs still so can't have been that bad, just in need
of a massage

Scenery was fab, especially with the rain clouds everywhere but with sun
every so often. Saw Kestrel, Deer [no longer a myth like the cow-sized sheep !], fungi, flowers and tree things I can't remember the name of and various other fab things !

Landscape was great with the clouds - see photos below !

Loved the Deer - think I see 16 in this pic ?

Wow those photos........I wish I could join you people but my health is not up to it. It will be lovely if peeps in this Group could take some photos and let us see our beautiful countryside around Sheffield and Derbyshire.

Thanks so much Grissom.

Glad you like the pics - will definitely take more if I get invited on another walk in the future...

Ooooh on the wildlide list I forgot to mention we saw a load of Bee Hives containing 'Honey Bunnies' as SHsheff called them (aka Honey Bees by us lesser mortals... !!!)

An excellent day's walking. I feel priviliged to have enjoyed some of the area's finest scenery with such a great bunch of people.
Ace photos Grissom. Deer-2 is much clearer than I expected given the distance and the fact that the deer were legging it! House-and-clouds is, in my mind, fantastic; such a wonderful contrast of hard and soft shapes, colours and light.
Many thanks for the organisation and lift SHSheff.

Hmmmmm. So is every slip of a tongue going to be publicised then? You KNOW EXACTLYwhat I meant to say! I shall have to keep my mouth shut in future. :suspect: :P

However, your pics are lovely, especially the deer and house-and-clouds as the others have said. It's rather nice to have an official walk photographer!

I had a great time. Didn't have any idea where we were going when I met up with everyone and it didn't look promising when we set out under leaden skies and drizzle but it soon brightened up and we had a brilliant day.

Thanks Grissom for the brilliant photos and thanks to SHSheff for the late night text invite and the lift.

I was bloomin knackered in the pub last night, could hardly make it to the bar and thought I'd be stiff this morning but I feel fine.
