View Full Version : Congratulations To Sheffield Kickboxers
chefkicker 27-08-2006, 19:21 Congratulations are due to Sheffield's kickboxers from the AFK club in more ways than one. Both academic and kickboxing based.
Sunny Singh got a FIRST CLASS in his degree.
Kathryn Mapley got straight A's at A-level (AAA) and is off to Cambridge university next month.
SarahbabeXXX Got 12 A grades in her GCSE Exams (4 of which at A*)
Just shows that AFK Kickboxers are not stupid ! LOL
Also congratulations to :
Mark Howarth and Kathryn Mapley on Passing their BLACK BELT Gradings in Wolverhampton earlier today.
Well done to all of the above.
If anyone would like to congratulate the above then feel free.
Well done everyone. And congrats to you too, Farhad. ;-)

Went very well Crayfish. I passed my 3rd Dan Black Belt by a landslide.
Paul Hennessey (the Chief Grading examiner) said that there was very little wrong with my technique, movement, sparring, coaching, padwork, self defense etc,... only thing he could pick out was that I was a little bit "lazy".
That comment had Mark and Kathryn in fits of laughter. I think he was refferring to the fact that I was really laid back in sparring. Preffering to counter attack and let them come to me. A strategy that worked very well as I really did not get hit much at all.
Kathryn commented that our standard overall compared to other clubs in attendance was very high.
Berserk Adam 29-08-2006, 10:34 Wow congratulations guys and girls :)
Good luck to whatever the future brings for you

Thank you Adam.
Future wise, Id say its only Kathryn who has a future. Shes off to cambridge.
Sarahbabe is stuck at silverdale for 6th form, me and mark are still at AFK teaching you annoying lot so nothing has changed there apart from Mark wearing a Black belt (and being told by his mates he is now officially "HARD" ).
I have another stripe on my black belt (not that anyone notices) and Sunny Singh is still failing to impress the ladies no matter how hard he trains :P

It was 'technically' 2 straight wins (on points) the kiddies bout wasn't "won" as such, one of our lads lost on points, and fought his heart out (but screwed up his knee). Some great fighting though, well done everyone who fought.

Yea sheffield really is steel city i went to both shows and both were crackin nights. Im not a fan of flick boxing or semi concrap but fighting is fighting i guess. The funniest fight was that coloured lad called Dyson who bashed up that guy who looked like a druggie. That druggie didnt wanna know and shudnt ave even been in there IMO. Also why did Shaun lomas' fight get stopped? He was ok to carry on and also wadge's fight , kick in the nuts? whats that all about?
