richard 02-02-2003, 08:36 PM Does any one else maintain a blog? I had one I made myself, but recently decided it wasn't advanced enough so, rather than do some hard work, I downloaded some free stuff. (Like the code for this site!)
My blog is at http://blog.zinkweb.co.uk/, where's yours?
Sidla 03-02-2003, 03:27 PM What's a blog?
richard 03-02-2003, 07:55 PM A blog is a web log, and is usually a cross between an online journal and comments on news stories or anything else you might want to put down. Have a look at http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog for more. http://blo.gs/ and http://www.weblogs.com/ will help you guage how popular they are.

eh?
smedley 28-10-2004, 09:52 AM I've got one. Mine is just a diary with the occasional rant about whatever's going on. Been filling it in pretty much daily since August 2003.
I think the best thing about it is using it for reference, because my memory is so bad, like recently my iPod went 'on the fritz', so I search on iPod, and there it was.
I love the idea of keeping a diary though. The annoying thing used to be typing a huge entry, only to have the website refuse it, so these days I do everything in Word and paste it across.
I maintain one but not terribly actively!
Use it as a place to put samples of my writing, my CV, stuff like that.

Yeah - very overpriced is vBulletin, better with invision or phpBB now-a-days (both free)!
smedley 28-10-2004, 06:42 PM www.20six.co.uk is free, up to a point. I've got a year's worth of entries, with pictures... Still free.

SHANE-D-PAIN 25-01-2006, 03:01 PM I just wondered if anyone else on here keeps a blog nowadays?
I update mine every so often but I plan to do it more.

Post up your blog, maybe we could create some form of 'blog-ring' linking all the bloggers in Sheffield together.
hotphil 26-01-2006, 10:57 AM There was a list started here too:

I have one at www.eggsareevil.com. No particular theme to it really, just a way of letting friends/family know what I'm up to.
42fta 26-01-2006, 11:12 AM This is mine http://www.42fta.com/diary/ , random posts and photos mostly.
Tracie 26-01-2006, 11:14 AM Mod Threads merged. Thanks for the link hotphil :)
mr_chris 26-01-2006, 01:12 PM dasgrafik.livejournal.com (obviously there are posts that are friends only)
It's my life, go figure....
DanSumption 24-02-2006, 10:04 AM My blog just celebrated its fifth birthday and still going (relatively) strong: A Life Less Literary: the life and adventures of Dan Sumption and his friends, family and colleagues in Sheffield and London (http://www.sumption.org/lifeless)
richard 24-02-2006, 10:16 AM This thread is three years old. My god.
Think that's roughly the same age as my blog.

Meroveus 06-03-2006, 04:20 PM Here's mine
http://meroveus.livejournal.com/
It mostly contans details of the duelling society I help run.
I think Livejournal is definately one of the better ones, as it allows for friends filters and communities like this one:
