View Full Version : Stupid idiot who called me racist...

This really made my blood boil...

I was walking home last night along a busy street when a well-built man grabbed hold of my arm, quite tightly, pulled me towards him and said: "Hey, you look like Uma Thurman".

Intimidated and very p*ssed off at being man-handled, I shook him off, told him to ***** off, and walked away briskly.

He then had the absolute nerve to shout agressively after me: "Racist bitch". Which made a lot of other people walking along the street turn to look at me as I live in a very multi-cultural area.

At this point I should probably point out that this man was black and I am white. If I didn't think there was a very real possibilty he could have been carrying a knife (this was in Brixton, South London, and before anyone starts the white men carry knives too!) I would have turned round and informed him that the problem was in the manner of his approach, not the colour of his skin.

I am not racist. If a strange man grabs me in the street, whether he be black, white, asian or rainbow coloured, I would tell him to ***** off.

(apologies for all the swearing in the post, BTW!)

Why do some people use the colour of their skin like this? It's not the first time I've turned down a man of different race to me only to be accused of being racist, even though any man would have got the same response.

GRRRRRRRRR! It made me so angry!!!!

Awwww! Thank you. She's not my type personally (if I had to do the gay thing with anyone it would be with an Angelina Jolie look-alike) but that's very sweet of you.

I suspect it was just one of his 'lines' though.

 We had a kid at school who always asked to copy your answers in class and if you said no she's say that you only refused because she was black and she was taking it up with the head, i can just imagine "sir she won't let me copy her answers because i'm black":hihi: bottom line is i didn't do it for that reason, it was because i put in the hard work why should other people sponge from it!

Forgot to mention, I was carrying a large umbrella with a sharp pointy tip.

I very nearly ran back and skewered him with it!

I get quite cross when men take liberties with me, and I'm lucky enough to be pretty tall (I feel really sorry for shorter ladies because these experiences must seem even more frightening) so I'm not very easily intimidated!

Thanks for the words of support ladies!

my opinion is that its a defense mechanism of transference.

they know what theyve done/said is wrong....but cant admit that its actually their fault, and therefore transfer blame to you.

a bit like when sid called you a feminist because you said he was creepy ;)

haha ive had that :(

on winmx chat a couple of years ago, id get messaged with blokes wanting to cyber thinking i was a female (with a name like mel of course id only be female)
but when i replied to politely turn em down as im male and dont fancy other males id get a torrent of abuse back making out i was sick cos for some reason i wasnt female as theyd thought.
not like theyd originally messaged me out of the blue or anything

Yeah. Not quite sure why being a feminist is a negative thing though.

A typical dictionary definition of feminism is the belief in the social, political and economic equality of the sexes

So of course I'm a feminist! Who wouldn't be??? :loopy:

Sid is creepy though! :gag:

i totally agree with you that being a feminist is not a negative thing, but i believe the context that he used it in was derogatory....

this was the way he used the term (and i didnt have the heart to correct his spelling either ;)):

....Are you a fire & brimstone vicar or a ball-crushing fememist? You sound like one or the other.

and for the record- i thoroughly agree with you about sid.

Yeah I know. But that's just yet another symptom of his total lack of understanding when it comes to women.

"Oh my god... She can think... She can speak... PANIC!!!!!!!"

Okay, now lets stop taking about Sid on my thread! We do enough obsessing about him on all of his!!!!!

You must be a prototype :D
Have you got a "Sony" tattoo on your back ?

Anyway try not to worry about it, Brixton is a rather Ummm dodgy area at the best of times, so he was probably high or something.

It’s because they’ve got a chip on their shoulders. Something to do with our Colonialism I’ve heard — from lots of coloured people, but always by indirect references.

hey I've been told that I looked like Uma Thurman too!

Seriously though, sorry to hear about this, I can imagine it was very intimidating for you.

Some people just want to start fights. You have to remember, these people don't matter - we love you :)
