Wow, Hecate - that's a pretty major overhaul! Did you get a gardener in or did you do the lot yourself?
Are all the plants on the wigwams sweet peas?
I was very lucky - the people who owned our house before us did a lot on the garden and so, other than weeding and cutting back there was very little to do when we moved in.
Gardener? Hah! No, it was just us.
Putting the new fences in was pretty straight forward. It was removing the old ones which was problematic. Although the fence on the left hand side of the garden was literally collapsing, some of the posts were intent on staying put - due to the previous owners' use of about a ton of concrete in each hole. It was an interesting introduction to the use of a pneumatic drill :hihi: .
Yes, the plants are sweet peas; my very favourite flowers. I had eight wigwams all together, with a different variety on each. It was absolutely glorious for about a week, until the greenfly and catterpillars descended. They went from bright leaf green to virtually skeletal within what felt like days.

I'm wondering whether it's the early onset of the september weather that's killed the sweet peas off :(
some of mine have given up the ghost, and the pyracanthus has sprouted berries early this year :suspect:
What's the betting that October is glorious this year?
PS - is this thread 'photo's of Hecates garden' or 'photo's of everybody's gardens'?
