My mate had his wedding reception in a church owned building behind the ranmoor inn - but it shuts @ 10:00 as was rather like an old peoples home (that didnt smell of p*ss!)

We used the Fulwood Inn for our wedding in 2003, it was really good, the food was great at a reasonable price too, we had a really lovely day there.

Prob limited to the Fulwood Inn unfortunately. Its a soul less rather tatty place inside- you'll have the place pretty much to yourselves at least. Ranmoor Inn & Bullshead dont have function rooms.

When we had our wedding there it was nice inside, not tatty at all. I'm sure that it has now changed owners so it might have gone down hill now, And I'm sure that you will agree the atmosphere and soul of the place depends entirely on who you invite!!!!!

Big time. It has seriously started to crumble inside. It was nice though yes:)

Just thought- Rising Sun may let you have a room. Good for real beer lovers, but all non smoking.

Exactly what I was thinking... They don't even have a decent boozer nevermind a W.M.C!

Might be worth trying one of the Student Halls of Residence - assuming the do is before mid sept - try via the conference office at Shef Univ.

Ranmoor Hall is a great place for a function.
I used to work there but don't know if it is still open as the site changed hands.

It's on abeautiful site with gardens, bar and restaurant

Try phoning 0114 2304916 which is the last number I had for thr reception. It's just up the road from the church so it's a good location.

They have B&B for up to 90 people and the rates are quite reasonable
