I'm getting married in late september and am wondering where to go for a honeymoon. Our budget will be around £1-2k and we'd like to disappear for at least a week. Any suggestions or relayed experiences would be more than welcome.

oooh, you could go to barcelona, or prague, or drive through europe staying at b&b's. Heaven! :D

You could probably just get in the Grand Floridian in Florida for £1,800 to £2,000 for the pair of you... But then there's your food/walt disney world passes/spending money on top of that... But oh well, it'd be worth it! ;)

I would go to Prague on the bus! you will really get to be close for 20-23 hours then with the money youve saved on travel you can blow it on a suite at the Europa on Wenclesaz square and lots of nice meals. Bus goes from Victoria, London not as bad a journey as you might think.

I have been reliably (?) informed that St Lucia or Mauritious would be good honeymoon destinations!

As many of you know, I got married in the oldest city in the United States, St. Augustine, Florida. Romantic enough, but for the honeymoon I never had yet, I fully intend to go to Sorrento, Italy. Mmmmmmmmmm.

Go to Skegvegas for a week...cost a couple of quid...being alone most of the time cos theres no one else there.....priceless.

On a serious note why not go to Tenerife? not the Las Americas/ Los christianos bit but look for some place in the mountains it will be a quiet and secluded place for you to be with your bride...wink, yet close enough for you to nip down into the bright lights if and when you need too.

Well after doing a lot of reading up etc we've booked somewhere in the Maldives. Looking forward to it!
