I think Teal'c from Stargate SG1, everything about the character is hilarious especially the super camp eyeshadow

How about you??

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm worf from the next generation.
I think...
He was so straight-laced yet had a way about him that could be funny in certain circumstances.

Q too... i loved the episodes with him in them

Bender from Futurama. If I can include a cartoon character.

Indeed Worf - Its not the Klingon way, very similar to Teal'c

and Q excellent

Bender from Futurama only a robot from the year 3000 could be that funny (wierd)

Worf is a good contender (Or Mr Woof as Mrs Troy (Senior) referred to him).

In terms of of a funny but sick scene in science fiction, the bit in Deep Space Nine where Quark is remote controlling a dead Dominion Vorta is pretty neat. :)

there was a character in buck rodgers called durex. he was a gymnast and only in it once, not sure if that's funny or unfortunate

My vote would go to Marvin the Paranoid Android from "Hitchhiker's Guide".

I always felt so sorry for him, but found him incredibly funny at the same time!

Me too! I thought Q was a fabulous character and he managed to steal the show every time! Very much as Quark did in "Deep Space Nine"

Kryten from Red Dwarf gets my vote

Hehehee... Davros...he just reminds me of a disgruntled jellybaby. ^_^ Very funny.

Though I agree, Worf...as my Dad says...he just looks like he's fallen asleep with a Mars Bar on his forehead. hehehe :hihi:

A bit off-topic, but did you know that "Quark" is also a type of foreign yoghurt/dairy splodge stuff...you can buy it from Lidl...'tis odd.

Kryten...definitely...but then again, I always think Rimmer's got something about him...especially when he discovers the "Quagarrr Warrior" :D :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

No it's not, you can make smashing cheesecakes with it!

Anyway back to the subject. Dr Smith from the original TV series of Lost in Space.

Dr Smith from Lost In Space, how camp was he, or anyone from Buck Rodgers.

Q was great playing off Janeway or Picard, less so with other characters. The Doctor from Voyager could also be pretty funny, and Holly from Red Dwarf (both incarnations)

The Doctor from Voyager could also be pretty funny,

Yes I found him very funny as well.

He has appeared in Stargate:Atlantis series 3 for 2 epiosdes and plays a more serious actor as well.

Looks like old Worfs currently a popular choice, but I also think that Sci Fi would be worse off without its funny characters even if they arent meant to be so

Who else - ahh yes Spock and Tuvoc you dont get funnier than vulcans

I really enjoyed Star Trek Deep Space 9 mainly because of Quark, Rom and my favourite, Grand Negus. The interplay between the 3 characters was very funny. I liked the Ferengi as "species" since I realised that I have common interests with them, namely the love of Profit and liking their women naked.:hihi:

Arthur Dent I think (from Hitch Hikers). While not being funny ha ha, his life is one big comedy ensemble. It always makes me laugh that he lives in the modern world with all its technologies and mechanisms, but when he becomes one of 3 humans left alive and becomes stranded on another world, all he can do is make sandwiches. He doesn't know how a ballpoint pen works, or how to build the parts for a radio or anything really useful. It always strikes a chord with me as I think most of us would be useless (me included) if we didn't have much more clever people designing the all of the stuff that we "need".

If we are going for funny ha ha then its Rimmer :)
