After watchin Miami Vice yesterday i'm confused, the film is set in the modern day and sees the cops using all the latest high tech gadgets yet Colin Farrell (Sonny) looks like he's stuck in a 1980's timewarp with his shoulder padded suit and tash!! What's it all about does anyone know??? :confused:

Well i thought so, similar to heat (same director) lots of guns and shootouts! Jamie Foxx is great in it!

I work in a cinema and people keep walking out of it saying its really bad, havent seen it myself so i cant comment but i havent heard anybody until now say its good!

Imho: It was rubbish! The only reason I saw it was for the yummy Foxx/Farrell combo... Sadly something died underneath Colin's nose and he didn't bother to remove it for the entire movie! I like guys with long hair and facial hair, but even I couldn't excuse his (lack of) styling. Foxx's acting was akin to that of a drowning cardboard cutout. The direction was pretentious, as if the director said to themselves - "I know what would make this film incredibly dull, I'll scrimp on lighting and film it with my handy cam but move around really, really fast and confuse... dazzle the audience with the movement."
The beginning is soft pornography and the end is a really bad 80s action movie - if you like that sort of thing, then :thumbsup:

I thought it was great - although it wasn't very cinematic (it would have had the same impact as an extended TV episode). If you are a fan of Michael Mann's films, or of Miami Vice the TV show, then you will enjoy it more.

Haven't seen people walk out of it though.

Was going to say, Heat is a fine film - I doubt something with such mixed reports could be as good as that.
