Hi,
I've been offered a room in a house in Crookesmore, and as I'm not from Sheffield I'd like to know what the area is like? I'm going to study at Hallam the next semester...
thanks!

its nice, should be close to the uni and stuff.. very student orientated area.
Depends on which Hallam site you're studying in. For instance, it's not too handy for the Psalter Lane site. If you let us have more details of which campus you'll be on we can tell you whether you'll have transport issues.
btw Crookesmoor is OK, close to Broomhill (search for threads on Broomhill for an idea of the area) just full of students. :D
Thanks for your quick answers!
I think I'll be studying at the City Campus. Do you know ho far it is?

It probably around a mile and a half. Depending on where abouts you are in Crookesmoor you could get a 52 or 95 bus into town if you don't fancy the walk.
Nomme
and how long would it take by bus? :-)
about 15 minutes by bus I think - number 95, less than that later on in the day.
Nice enough area to live in

It's a ncie area, close to town, pubs, Uni, eating places, gym, good bus service too. It won't take you too long to walk to city campus from Crooksmoore, maybe a bit longer on the way back as it's all uphill :)
