This quality band called Speedball from Merseyside are looking to get gigs in Sheffield. They are great and play an indie style rock n roll.
Who is best to speak to about this? Either at the Universities or Leadmill etc?

We can put them on at the Classic Rock Bar. That way they can be exposed to a new audience....then again, I don't know them, are they likely to fill the Leadmill?
If interested, they can call the pub to discuss 0114 275 6198.
Well yeah I know any gig is a good gig but travelling from Liverpool I think they would prefer me to organise something a little larger scale. I know the CRB is class etc but I have contacted the Universities re: freshers week.

have a gander on here:)
Give the Ents depts a call at both Uni SUs - but be warned - they get hundred of demos and realistically the band are not that likely to get a gig if they wont pull a crowd because;
1. they are all over NME
2. they're local and have got loads of mates
Most of the larger gigs with support slots tend to be outside promoters who just hire the venue - but SJM who do alot of gigs at Shef Uni - also do alot of gigs in Liverpool - (they are based in Manchester) -s o might be worth trying to get a slot at one of their Liverpool gigs and get in that way.
or another good option is doing a gig swop with a similar Sheffield band.
Good luck
the boardwalk does gigs www.theboardwalklive.co.uk
Also try the grapes, 50 quid and you get the function room and a sound engineer for the night.
