Can anybody recommend a good one?

La Vida Loca - it is fantastic, a huge choice of food which tastes gorgeous and really friendly staff!
And they do banana chimmychangas!

Have to disagree. Went there a couple of weeks ago after good recommendations from friends and colleagues with my girlfriend.

Although the food wasn't awful, I thought it was overpriced for what you got. My antipasta starter consisted of some Morrissons bought Italian meats whacked on an obviously pre packed salad. For a fiver it was a bit poor really.

Maybe the staff had had a bad day or something but it wasn't exactly service with a smile either.

I won't be going back.

I'd fall somewhere in between the other two opinions stated here. La Vida Loca has never disappointed when I've been there, but there are better Italian restaurants in the city.

Has anyone tried the Italian just up from Nat West on Middlewood Road? Been thinking of popping along but I have no idea what to expect.

I think it's called La Ciavetta (or somesuch). We went there a couple of times last year, not overly impressed by the food. It wasn't dire but not really worth the dosh. We much preferred La Vida Loca.

Avoid Maria's Italian restaraunt in Crookes if you can help it... The food is overpriced crap, and the waitresses are worse than useless, as PT would tell you, ey pudd? ;)

there is a indian on bradfield road opp petrol station it looks grubby but the currys are wickedi think it has had a refit tho .... i hope they have done somthing with the bogs.nice ruby tho sette collie is good to thats a italian mmmm food

I think if you are wanting to eat out in Hillsborough you should try the restaurant in the casino, okay so you have to be a member but thats free as long as you join 24 hours before wanting to go in. The food is really nice and very good value for money when we went we had a four course dinner for abhout £12.

I think La vida loca was great,, Ok the food is slightly overpriced and the seating arrangements are a bit grim,but the quality of food is good , the staff are friendly and efficient and they do a great bottle of house white (which is huge) ata great price.

I think the food at this place may taste a tad burnt now.
