I will now add my thoughts to this.

I think it is just Alex Ferguson, not wanting anyone rivalling himself and was jealous.

Fergie has his horses and phones up bertie vogts every week to discuss the Scottish national team, but as everyone is aware let any united player want to play for his country and it is a big no-no .

Giggs has played 1 friendly in 12 years!

Fergie also sold Japp Stam because he said one bad word about Fergie.
Man utd never even got payed for him from Lazio!!.

He now has sold Beckham for £25 million. But when you break the transfer down is it so good.

For a start you lose a good defensive/central and attacking midfielder who does not need to bed down and scores more goals in his position than any other player in the country, bar Wiltord.

The deal is 5 million this year.
4 million June 2004
4 million June 2005
4 milliion June 2006
So 17 million over 4 years and then
7 million if Real Madrid qualify for the Champions League for all those years and make the quarter finals every year.
If they fail 1 of these clauses Man U lose 7 million.

How much does Beckham pull in a year through merchandise.
I would imagine 5 million easy, so what are Man U gaining financially?
To me it is a case of Fergie once again cutting of his nose to spite himself.

Thank god, it's a joke. I had visions of the stick insect slapping round Meadowhall.

That "walking stick" would probably demand it to be closed for her viewing purposes too.

It might bring a few shoppers back to town, too.

Your right but they would put the parking prices up to accomodate, you can bank on that.

Must be nice for Wednesday fans knowing they won't have to go to big cities for away matches anymore.
