I am in the process of buying a house in Halfway. The area looks nice and I just wondered if it is! Any comments from people who have lived there or still do would be appreciated! Cheers

I'm in Halfway and have lived here for about four years. No complaints at all - nice and quiet, no hassles.

The neighbours are nice too :)

I live in Sothall & I love it.... Da Bouncer lives here too. It's a great area.... Rother Valley across the road is brilliant.
Where in Halfway are you moving to ?

Just to confirm - I don't actually live with Lindsey W :P

However Sothall is a great area - I don't live at Halfway, but it is close and am guessing it's similar to Sothall so you'll be ok round there.

Cheers guys - as I say, I thought it looked nice but you never know do you? I can't remember the road name (useless I know!!) but it is near the Double Top pub. What's that like?

Seeing the Halfway thread reminded me of an old chum who used to live at Halfway.
As far as I know it is still where he lives
Does anybody know Tony Wills?
If the answer is afirmative could they P.M me with info:

I have lived in Halfway for 3 years and i love it. Its quiet, peacefull and lucky you... the property keeps its value due to popular demand. I live on the area at the top end at the rear of Mosborough hall. There is a nice shortcut over the back of the houses to the local shops and..oh yes the best pubs in the area. You can stumble home over the 'Brow' with your chip supper..no taxis ..Exellent !

Thank you!

Halfway between Chesterfield & Rotherham, and between Sheffield and Worksop....does that clear it up ?

Hate to admit it as I do, here is what happened to me this morning:

I was waiting for a yellow tram to the arena, and a blue one came.

I go 'Halfway?! Halfway?! Halfway to ****ing where?!'

And had a small tantrum.

Not sure if its still there but near the new houses beside Morrisons at halfway there was a plaque that explained how Halfway got its name, and showed the various places that it is halfway between and the distances to each place/country.

But surely every place is halfway between 2 other places.

Wasnt meant to be :P

And yes, I realise everwhere is half way between two places - they had to conjure up something to fill the plaque I guess

I meant noseyrosie's post. I thought I could get away without quoting and be the next post after hers but by the time I'd posted you'd rudely stepped in!

t020 - I think alex and I got the joke, but it's unlikely rtapper did seeing as it refers to another thread ;)

Speaking from experience some of the Halfway kids cause trouble at Westfield too.I know Halfway has had trouble with gangs of youths in the shopping precinct/Double top area i think the private estates are the best bets.Youths will congregate on every estate, especially these days with the lack of youth clubs etc..I know police patrols have increased in the westfield/halfway areas as the community van is always out and about, seems to be a lot quieter than the past 2 or so years anyway.Hope this helps.

yes i think its half-way between Mosborough and Killamarsh.Might be wrong but pretty sure thats what we were told at school in a local geography topic we did.
