A vet will do it - they won't think you are stupid. They would however think you were stupid if you left them grow to long and it was detrimental to his health...

What's wrong with asking a dog groomer? Give them a phone. They can only say 'no' - and it'll probably be cheaper than the vets if they'll do it ;)

if you havnt got sorted out as yet i could help you out there ive always done them myself for past 20 yr including canairies finchers ect ect
dont leave them too long as there rear claws can start growing inwards
or Using nail clippers for humans make sure they are sharp .Leave at least half a centimeter of nail after the quick. This ensures you won't hurt your ferret by cutting into the quick and ensures your ferret will be comfortable. just incase things dont go too well although this has never happened yet but i wouldnt say it will never happen .Get a bottle of Witchhazel from the chemist and some cooton wool if any bleeding accures hold the cotton wool soaked in this solution onto the claw this will clot it then rest your ferret .
if you still dont feel comfident then dont try this but it is fairly easy .I normaly do ours about every couple months.
ps
thought id better mention this sharp nail trimmer can be purchased at most pet supply stores. Do not use a large nail trimmer, these can take off too much nail and hurt your ferret. Nail trimmers for humans can be used, however be very careful as the end of these are curved and you can accidentally cut into the quick of the nail or into your ferret's skin have a practice on somthing like a straw/match stick or anything else you can think of get the feel of the clippers first.idealy its a two person job for safety and comfort of your pet.
