No, but I recommend that Tony Blair uses them after the amount of times I've seen him hitch up those glasses of his. :D

I presume the constant wear is only for a set period of something like 30 days? I'd be slightly concerned about hygiene.

I get my contacts from specsavers for about £7 per month... I keep them for 30 days before changing them, but I am only allowed to wear them for 14 hours per day. I can't wait till someone invents contacts you can wear in water!

That £7 per month seems a fair price considering some of the deals I've seen. Is that cost 'all in' including solutions etc.?

Its going up to £7.50 per month I think. It would be £12.50 including solutions and repeat check-ups etc.

Hiya - I used to have some of the constant wear lenses from specsavers. I haven't had any problems with them, but they're pretty strict about getting them fitted - I had to go back several times to make sure my eyes were alright because they are worn for such long periods of time. Then you need to go back every 6 months for a check before they'll dispense the next lot. You can wear them up to 30 days without taking them out, although I tend to take mine out overnight every few days, give them a clean, and put them back in in the morning.

I think it was about £25 /month and that included all the check ups - so I thought that was ok. You don't spend a lot of money on solutions either if you're wearing them all the time.

Not sure about prices anywhere else though

Hope that helps

:)

Wouldnt have thought constant wear contacts would be healthy for your eyes  I have the daily disposable ones so no cleaning involved (thank god cos Id only end up melting eyeball with too much cleaning fluid) optician warned about constant contact use because they starve your eyes of oxygen, although you can wear them while youre asleep they dont advise it, and being as I have done that I dont advise it either, really dries out your eyes.

On another contact lens question - the acuvue coloured ones can you get them on pescription or are they just for people with 20/20??? according to website you can but the wonderful peeps down at D&A look at me blankly!!!

Hi

I've been wearing these for about 3-4 years. I switched because I developed allergies to cleaning solutions so I had to stop using the normal use CL, and daily disposables lasted about 5-6 hours before I had to remove them because I suffer from fairly dry eyes. I have had no problems with the constant wear lenses. The ones I have are made of an oxygen-permeable material i.e. they aren't the hard lens-type which do starve your eyes of oxygen.

Its definitely worth the extra money for the privilege of waking up in the morning and being able to see, or even waking at night and being able to read the clock to see what time it is.
