Well as some of u may know I had my car nicked and wrote off last week, I informed my insurers on the 9th a week ago today. I have sent all the documents and forms back that they requested and my car was picked up last Thursday by Norwich Union from the recovery place but I have phoned them today (and every day practically since it happened) and they are still telling me that an inspector hasn't been to look at it yet so they can't make me an offer untill he does. All they say is that hopefully the inspector will look at it before the end of the week.

Is there anything else I can say or do to make them pull their fingers out cos I am still paying for my insurnace and can't even start looking for another car till its sorted and it is driving my mad

Has anybody had any dealings with Norwich Union and payouts etc??

Norwich Union (direct) should sort out a total loss/theft claim within 14 days and offer a settlement. Unless there is any doubt as to the credibility of the claim.

So hopefully I can expect an offer by next week. There is no question of credibility of the claim so that won't hold it up at all.

credibility and insurance should never appear in the same sentence

I had an insurance claim about 5 years ago that went on for about 5 months. In the intervening time my policy ran out and I had to renew at 0% no claims bonus. Which was more than double what I was normally paying and left me financially crippled for afew months.
None of this was my fault and the bloke who crashed into me was just slow in filling in his forms. It got me into debt. Later when the claim was sorted, they just readjusted the remaining year's direct debits, I was hoping to claim back the gross overpayments, as I was totally overdrawn and in debt.

Insurance companies, = evil
