Linekar Vs Lynam? I chose to watch the match on BBC1 because the pundits and commentators are better and I don't have to sit through advert breaks.

Not sure, is he retiring? I thought he might try to blag his way back to the BBC and do MOTD. I used to prefer him to Linekar but now Linekar is a much more experienced presenter than he used to be and seems accomplished and also humorous.

Not sure whether he is retiring, I just heard it billed as "Des Lynams last match'. I think he is the best at what he does. I'll agree with you on that score Linekar was shocking in his early days and I didn't think he would be able to cut it but he has improved and is now a decent presenter.

Got loadsa time for Linekar, tactfull, experienced, bright, funny, down to earth and still young, also looks like a football trophy..

We watched it on both because someone kept flicking between ITV and BBC1! Very annoying!

Can't see why it had to be on both channels though....

It was only on both channels cos wimboredom was on BBC2, otherwise it would have been on all 3. :P

I watched it on Beeb 1, it's just more er . . official!? watching a football final on ITV just doesn't feel right.

I watched first half on BBC and second half on ITV... but only because I went to a different pub for the second half!

Des Lynam wins over Gary Linekar for me. I prefer Clive Tyldesley too.

I thought Des was going back to the BBC from next season?
