View Full Version : Where can I take rare comics to sell?
absynthfairy 13-08-2006, 10:11 I have 2 pristine first and second editions of the X-Files comic/magazine from 1996 - figured they might be worth something to someone - does anyone know anywhere I could take them to sell? I saw a place on the A61 in Chesterfield but would prefer somewhere a bit closer

There is a shop on Shoreham St just before the junction of Charlotte Rd, its next to a fruit shop. It just deals in Comics rare and sought after copies.
absynthfairy 13-08-2006, 11:24 Thanks for the input - tried them on ebay and they didn't sell and I wondered if it was perhaps a little too specialist. On the other hand they might not be worth anything - i'm a bit skint though so i'll try anything at the moment... it's the comics or my kidney...:hihi:
This should give you an idea of what there worth on ebay.

absynthfairy 13-08-2006, 11:29 See having had a quick scan through that the 2 I've got aren't there - I've got the first 2 EVER....figured if i showed them to someone who knew what they were looking at they might be worth something....

who are they published by, i can maybe give you a rough guide to the price... i used to have loads of price guides but i chucked them out... i know when they first came out they quickly became rare and the first few issues i think were about 15quid.. not sure how much more they have gone up, but they need to be MINT condition really.. bagged and boarded and stored well.
absynthfairy 13-08-2006, 13:11 They are published by Manga - issue 1 and 2 June and July 1995. They are in really good condition (not dog eared at all) The free badge with issue one is long gone but the free postcard with issue 2 is still attatched... they are proper comics, with interviews and show guides at the back.
Any input would be gratefully recieved:)

don't know but our owdlad, don, viking etc are priceless & worth a small fortune:hihi:
Hi,
I'm not a great expert, but I do know enough to say that the first issue without it's attached gift will be worth next to nothing. For collectors these things need to be nearly pristine, and your copy is missing part of what would make it collectible.
I'd also guess that an X-Files comic really wouldn't pull in much anyway.
Regards,
Ade
absynthfairy 13-08-2006, 13:29 Fair enough - thanks for your input
mr.blaze 13-08-2006, 13:58 I've got some of the first editions of Judge Dredd and 2000AD from years ago, looked on ebay but even those don't seem to fetch much.

unfortunately the x-files comics that are worth most are by TOPPS comics... issue 1 of the x-files by manga in MINT CONDITION would only get you about £4.50... and you would have to find someone who wanted it also.

most british comics are crappy for re-sale purposes, mind you the value of my most collectable marvel stuff I have isnt as much as i would have expected 15yrs on.

I'd guess they aren't worth much as i've seen similar going as lots for really cheap prices...but to be honest i dont really know much about them.
