View Full Version : Least funny program matsalleh 04-07-2004, 07:33 Following on from Bo thread. My least unfunny series would have to be `Allo Allo` Did nothing for me.What`s yours? Yodameister 04-07-2004, 11:06 I'd have to vote Will & Grace. It has the occasional funny moment, but it is just done so "paint by numbers" just working out stuff based on Friends and all those sort of shows. It is just so unoriginal. igm1 04-07-2004, 13:21 the last few series of friends, simply awful t020 04-07-2004, 13:32 Bo Selecta. Pure crap. Cols 04-07-2004, 13:35 Anything American, except for Bilko owdlad 04-07-2004, 13:39 Originally posted by t020 Bo Selecta. Pure crap. sorry to spoil it for all the rest of you but I agree with him.......but only this once..lol owdlad 04-07-2004, 13:40 Alan Partridge...also pure carp t020 04-07-2004, 13:43 Originally posted by owdlad Alan Partridge...also pure carp Disagree with that. I found most of the Alan Partridge programmes hilarious. owdlad 04-07-2004, 13:52 Originally posted by t020 Disagree with that. I found most of the Alan Partridge programmes hilarious. I knew it was too good to last ...lol Lickszz 04-07-2004, 13:54 Friends, garbage. Lestat 04-07-2004, 14:21 Alan Partridge was amazingly bad, just not funny in the slightest. 3 non-blondes is pure pap. Lenny Henry should really give up now, it's embarrassing. Jim Davidson, well what can I say  Saifa 04-07-2004, 14:28 Gotta be Keeping Up Appearances- about as funny as a kick in the head. Though Last of the Summer Wine aint far behind. Birds of a Feather was pretty bad an all. But Bo Selecta's reyt good!!! Even if he has ripped off Dennis Pennis for some of the ideas (anyone remember him?) Lickszz 04-07-2004, 14:30 Yes, I remember him and I heard he was making a comeback? Lestat 04-07-2004, 14:33 I hope Dennis Pennis does come back - He was ace!! JoeP 04-07-2004, 14:45 Ooo 'eck... Would go with lestat on his list of unfunny things....and add Bo Selecta.... But I have a slight soft spot for 'Allo 'Allo - I think it helped to have seen the 'straight' TV series Secret Army before hand. But I like farce in general along with the witty stuff, so 'All 'Allo appeals to me. I tried to watch Seinfeld and although it raised the odd smirk I couldn't see what the fuss was about. Joe duffman 04-07-2004, 15:13 My family gets my vote! Friends aswell, I just didn't find them funny at all. FairyNormal 05-07-2004, 13:00 Has to be Bo Selecta ...... utter tripe! Along with Last of the summer w(h)ine and I never found Ab Fab funny either. Give me Little Britain or League of Gentlemen anyday!! PuressenceUK 05-07-2004, 14:54 It's a close run thing between The Mighty Boosh or Friends. I think Friends just edges it. Jonesy 05-07-2004, 16:00 Alan Partridge?? It's one of those charcacters that you either get or you don't, if you don't you'll hate it, but if you do you love it, that's why it is such a cult classic with millions of fans, and is commonly regarded as one of the best sitcoms ever. Same as me with Phoenix nights- I don't 'get it', but millions of people love it. beevish 27-06-2006, 14:41 davina mcCalls flop sitcom with samantha janus., Babes in the wood. beevish 27-06-2006, 14:41 oooooh or Shane by frank skinner. it's sooo close Booch 27-06-2006, 14:46 Friends and any other related lightweight type fodder :gag: :gag: Oh, and Look North, particularly paultheweatherman and Christa... MickeyBarnes 27-06-2006, 14:52 Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps is my most hated show. its crap. I also hate Friends too. What a load of rubbish, especially that Chandler guy. What a tosser. LHarman 27-06-2006, 15:11 Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps is my most hated show. its crap. I also hate Friends too. What a load of rubbish, especially that Chandler guy. What a tosser. I'll second that, what about that rubbish effort Coupling? I couldnt even stand the theme tune. steve_sufc 27-06-2006, 15:22 Newsnight. helxx 27-06-2006, 15:48 Oh I loved coupling (except series 4) Radio 4 needs to do the merciful thing to some of its comedies. Quote unqote, counterpoint... really anyhting without giles wembly hogg (who is wonderful) is kind of crappy these days. littleboo 10-07-2006, 11:06 Any comedy on ITV except 'Rising Damp'. evildrneil 10-07-2006, 11:10 I also loved coupling! But can't stand Bo Selecta, Mighty Boosh, Friends, My Hero and many many others. On a contraversial note I never saw the appeal of Little Britain or League of Gentlemen. Of course none of them remotely rival "I'm sorry I haven't a clue"!!! Sweetcheeks 10-07-2006, 11:38 Alan Partridge was so popular, why? I have never understood the reason that it is so well liked. Steve Coogan is simply not funny. The worst series, however, has to be The Vicar of Dibley, overacted, forced, and very silly. Dawn French is wonderful, but wasted on that programme. BasilRathbon 10-07-2006, 11:46 Worst has to be "Little Britain" - third rate childish rubbish that would love to be "The League Of Gentlemen" but lacks the intelligence. Closely followed by Catherine Tate, which in turn rips off "Little Britain". Their popularity only serves to show how thick the majority of TV viewers are these days......... *Ryan* 10-07-2006, 11:49 Alan Partridge was so popular, why? I have never understood the reason that it is so well liked. Steve Coogan is simply not funny. The worst series, however, has to be The Vicar of Dibley, overacted, forced, and very silly. Dawn French is wonderful, but wasted on that programme. Well... I am one to back this.. Alan Partridge is literally a classic show! You just have to have the right sense of humor same goes with mighty boosh and LOG! There are probs many for me but the one that stands out is my hero :( oh and rising damp! taxman 10-07-2006, 11:50 Tried to watch Seinfeld but couldn't stand that constant slappy bass guitar rubbish between every scene. Mork and Mindy was annoying. I've just thought of my worst one - Sorry with Ronnie Corbett - that was painful Morte 10-07-2006, 13:07 Well without going back into the mists of time (Sorry and Allo Allo would be right up there) I'd have to say firstly Little Britain, especially the last series, deeply unfunny and some of the most criminally lazy writing I've ever seen...and then secondly Last of the Summer Wine, this one ran out of steam 15 years ago, god knows how it's still around stinking up the schedules. uncleheed 10-07-2006, 13:16 Little Britain. Friends. Allo Allo Hi De Hi Last of the summer wine They are the ones I give the widest berth to. Sad thing is,of that list OUR money has gone into producing such twaddle nick2 10-07-2006, 13:19 Only Fools And Horses, I hate it, and it's on constantly on the satelite channels. AtticusFinch 10-07-2006, 13:24 My Family. I've just never gotten it or found it funny. Keeping up Appearances and Birds of a Feather also qualify, and I never understood why One Foot in the Grave was supposed to be so good. CaptainSwing 10-07-2006, 13:26 Butterflies - was that even supposed to be funny? Or anything else by Carla Lane. Ousetunes 10-07-2006, 13:32 Guess I'll not be making any friends here but I've got to say Dad's Army. Most BBC sit-coms (I might have missed an H out somewhere) with canned laughter are excruciatingly bad. The audience are in stitches yet these programmes aren't even remotely funny. Add these to my list:- Friends - I can't say just how bad this is without making myself ill; Big Brother - What's Wrong With Our Country summed up in this vomit. Okay, it's not supposed to be funny but it most certainly is sad. Very. nick2 10-07-2006, 14:40 Butterflies - was that even supposed to be funny? I'm not sure, it was quite sad most of the time. Whatif wewin 10-07-2006, 14:49 Bo Selecta. Pure crap. You can say that again. Rich 10-07-2006, 14:56 Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps is my most hated show. its crap. I also hate Friends too. What a load of rubbish, especially that Chandler guy. What a tosser. Two Pints is NOT crap, sure it's crude and some people may find it offensive, but that's half the humour IMO... I watch it loads and almost always PMSL with laughing at it. And no, it's not cos Jonny's a Chav before anyone starts. Whatif wewin 10-07-2006, 15:02 My Family. I've just never gotten it or found it funny. Keeping up Appearances and Birds of a Feather also qualify, and I never understood why One Foot in the Grave was supposed to be so good. I agree except I liked one foot SpiderPete 10-07-2006, 15:09 the last few series of friends, simply awful Have to agree here, IMO Friends was the most awful programme ever, I just didn`t find it funny at all........... then I began to wonder "why am I watching this crap", and they were over-paid as well. CaptainSwing 10-07-2006, 15:13 I'm not sure, it was quite sad most of the time. No, I've checked on the BBC web site, and Butterflies was supposed to be funny. Don't know about sad. Annoying maybe - if she hated her husband that much, why not just leave him, or just accept the comfortable lifestyle he's provided her with and stop whingeing? And if she hated cooking so much, why not pay somebody to cook and do something more interesting with her spare time? They were rich enough. Or get herself a job, or do some charity work? Yuk. Sorry, but this programme epitomises for me everything that's loathsome about the 'victim culture', and might well have been partly responsible for inaugurating that culture in the first place. Yuk yuk yuk. And what was it with those weirdly anachronistic sons of hers, speaking some bizarre version of 1960s 'hep cat' slang way into the late 1970s, without apparent irony? ... but I entirely agree with you about Only Fools and Horses. CaptainSwing 10-07-2006, 16:03 I've just thought of my worst one - Sorry with Ronnie Corbett - that was painful Oh God yes - that whole genre of "let's take the p*ss out of emotionally retarded/educationally sub-normal people", which also included Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, was very poor. Hecate 10-07-2006, 16:17 ...Mork and Mindy was annoying... No! Mork and Mindy was fantastic! Most British sit-coms are fairly rubbish, especially 'Allo 'Allo and others of that ilk. Much as I hate to say it, many episodes of the later series of Frasier were quite poor. Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em is my nomination for the greatest irritant of all time. helxx 10-07-2006, 19:07 I agree about Frasier - at least its production I've read nearly all of the scripts(the things people used to do before bittorrent lol) and found that I enjoyed the series 9 & 10 scripts *more* than those of the earlier seasons. Watching the episodes was a huge dissapointment. Jabberwocky 10-07-2006, 19:09 Metal Mickey. Yes, Im sad enough to remember that. It was so crap that you had to watch it just to torture yourself. Mathom 10-07-2006, 19:36 I never really liked Only Fools and Horses either. Also not funny were: Bread, Friends, Allo Allo, Vicar Of Dibley, Birds of a Feather, Cheers, Little Britain, that other thing with them off Little Britain being pop stars, Ricky Gervais stand up shows, just about all American sit-coms, variety shows. NEKRO138 11-07-2006, 09:05 Frasier. Absolute crap. And Friends. There's so much crap comedy, I don't know where to start. Slagging Partridge off is unforgivable. No other programme makes me cringe as much as Partridge. slimsid2000 14-07-2006, 13:38 I would say at least 95% of the sitcoms over the last 35 years are probably a load of horse manure actually. |
