Hi - I have just started building a portfolio of classic car/bike drawings (the latest ones are a 55 Corvette and an Enfield motorcycle), that I can take to shows to try and secure further commissions and art shows.
As i'm based in Sheffield, I would rather take my own photos of local cars to work from than use pictures from published books. Thats all I need really, local classic car/bike owners who will let me photograph their car, and then I can create an artwork of it (not for sale) that I can use in my portfolio and further website. I have read the threads and seen a lot of chat about Fiesta, etc - any car/model that you think is a classic will be considered. I am happy to send images of work already completed so you can see the quality of my work, so please reply, it would be a great help!
Many thanks Danny

Can I see some images of your work please? Have you a website with them on?

I presume the first artworks will be given to the owners free of charge?

To Skatiechik - hi, as artworks take about a week to complete, they are not free of charge, but neither are they for sale (unless anyone has seen my work and want to make a private commission)- I need to build up my portfoilio of orginal work. However I am happy to send a free sample image of the finished work to the owner of the car involved. The plan is to make limited edition prints of different model car drawings that I can sell at shows, fairs, etc. As this is my full time job and I receive no funding, ultimately the artworks have to have more of a commerical interest than a hobby! I have already purchased the website name, which should be running late this year.
Hope thats ok - thanks Danny

Hi again - forgot to say I am happy to send current sample images of my work and also to PM anyone, but as I have just signed up, have just been told I need to send more posts before I am allowed to PM - so more enquiries please!!! Once you see my work, you will know I am serious about what I do.... Thanks Danny

Hi - I was reading the thread last night about the Moorlands meet today - which looks like it may not happen, espically with all the wind/rain today. I will keep a lookout for further meets and hopefully turn up.. - but I don't think my Fiesta qualifies as a classic!

Thanks for that - will do. I will send a PM my details so we can meet (when the sun returns!). I notice you have a couple of classic car meets coming up - Meadowhall, etc. Please tell me more thanks Danny

Dont know much about the Meadowhall one but the one at Whirlow Hall Farm was pretty good last year. It's on the 17th September and is open to the public at around 11am. Theres lots to do as it is a farm fayre as well as a classic car show.

Yup, I did I have forwarded it onto to the other half and asked him to do something about it, as it is really his car rather than mine. :) Can you send me an email/pm letting me know how much a first print would be, what size, etc if he volunteers his car.
