Does anybody have any memories of Rebels on Dixon Lane.

:(

I miss it, If I didnt have any beer money I used to be able to take down some albums and flog them to the DJ, ahh great days.

Can't imagine doing that in 'Kingdom' lol

Did you frequent this historical Rock drinking pit?

In the late eighties I used to frequent a wide variety of night clubs - Joesphines, Cairos, Leadmill (Steamer) and Rebels.

I found Rebels by far and away the friendliest place. Great sense of community, no k**b heads, great music and a very slippy dance floor. Great stuff!

Don't forget those stairs that were almost VERTICAL!

Very handy after 5 pints of snakebite.... (I was only about 16 when I started frequented "Rebs", so five was my absolute limit!)

Loved the place, even the sticky carpets and slippy dancefloor.

Just like being in the Wapentake, but upstairs rather than down :)

I almost lived in Fannys at that time... but Rebels was always the best place to go for a really good night... have been so out of it there so many times (including falling down the stairs) and I think one of the first clubs to have a "Can Bar" (long live Red Stripe!)

One of the best clubs Steve Baxendale ever had!!

On a similar note anyone remember the 7 foot tall bouncer at Josephines?

Rebels was excellent!!!

The atmosphere was fantastic on Sat nights...

Funny how the stairs always seemed to go on for miles after I had been out on the booze all day though ;)
Used to get there about 10:30 and have a quick game of pool before they covered it up/shifted it! lol
