I am sure you guys have all seen the mock ups of famous movie posters (eg Harry Pothead, Saving Private Fat Toungue) where famous people have been edited into well known movie posters.
What I was wondering is what software is used to manipulate or edit these existing jpeg files?
Any help appreciated.

Adobe Photoshop i think or something very similar
Photoshop will probably be the software of choice. If you can't afford that you can use Paint Shop Pro - far cheaper and does about as much or if you really want cheap go for 'The Gimp' it's free :)

Most definatley photoshop, but if you haven't got the £570 to buy the latest one, you can pick up some of the older versions for much cheaper, and they'll still do the job

Very limited i noticed, but nice for a freebie when i had it. Get a free trial of adobe or paintshop or something, you can just do the 30 day trials on loads of different ones. Cheeky, but they had it coming doing free trials
The Gimp came from Linux and has been ported over to Windows, that's why it's free. It is good but complicated to learn with an unusual interface. BUT it will do just about anything with photos if you are willing to learn.

Here's (http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Adobe-PhotoShop--Update-Download-696.html) the link for the 30 day trial of CS2. Mind you it can be a bit tedious to learn first time round, but have a look on here (www.good-tutorials.com) for some nice step by step tutorials.
