I had decking put in my back garden 18 months ago, I've heard a horrid rumour that planning permission is needed for any kind of decking.

Can anyone please confirm if this is true or not, I would hate to have to take it up!

If it's just on the ground I would think you don't need permission. It's tall things that cause problems.
