Hi all,
I have a job interview tomorrow in Shireoaks but have no idea where it is or how to get there. By the S81 postcode I'm guessing it's miles away from where I am - what's the best way to get there from Crookesmoore?? Taxi or are there buses? Thanks a million!

Shireoaks is just the Sheffield side of Worksop
It is less than a mile from Worksop bypass.
It has a rail station
Unless you are refering to Shireoaks, Derbyshire which is in the middle of nowhere!

I would suggest you get the train to Worksop then get a cab out to Shireoaks then catch the train back to Sheffield from Shireoaks.
Here is the rail timetable:

Shireoaks is the border between Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. The name comes from the ancient oak tree that stood at that "border". Of course this doesn't help you get there, but it does help you find it.*
*provided they haven't moved the county boundaries in 400 years.

I think the Derbyshire border is now a little further south, now I know where it is I will plant an acorn the ngext time in the area.
The arrow marks where the three counties now meet:

A very interesting fact all the same.
You can also get to shireoaks by canal and it even has a canal basis where you can stay over in your boat. Given the state of the railway service this may not be such a daft idea.
