When I was 19 I packed my office job up and went to work at Butlins Holiday Camp at Skegness as a waitress with my friend Judy.It wasnt like work at all, just like being on holiday & getting paid for it. I fell for this cook from Liverpool and we continued to see each other when the season had finished.Trouble was I couldnt understand his Scouse accent, but he was quite nice. After about six months of too-ing and frowing from Sheffield to Liverpool,I eventually met my present husband at a dance, and I had to write old Scouser a "Dear John" letter.:hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
Never in a million years would I ever have a holiday romance.
I dont know what it is about them- but they make me feel uncomfy for some reason :hihi:

Thing is about holiday romances is you never actually intend to have one; it just happens.
I had one when I was 15 in Cyprus with a greek boy called Savvas.
A man from my hotel took my mum out for dinner and invited Savvas as company for me! It was really sweet, we went for walks on beaches and met all his family.
I thought I'd fallen in love and almost stayed there but then I got home and completely forgot about him! Looking back he was very slimey :gag:
hubby and i met in blackpool 33yrs ago
we both were definitely NOT looking for romance
so some do work

i had one 2 yrs ago- and it turned into a disaster!!
i was in this pub in newquay and we got chatting to these mancunian geezaz and i got with one of them and he became obsessed in a big way- he drove over to see me every weekend and during the week and bought me roses and champagne and proposed etc- he was a lovely guy but a typical jack the lad and he also had a coke habit so after 5 months i dumped him for good..... funny tho- i have a great new bf now and i have just been on hols to newquay with out the bf and me and my sis and mates were sat in the same pub i met him in 2 yr ago and in walks his best mate and bro hahaha i was ****tin it cos i expected the ex to walk in (we havent spoken for over a year) but luckily his best mate said dont worry he isnt here hahahaha put me off my scampi and chips i tell ya!!! :hihi:
Wanted to start a thread but found this. Well done P!
Well mine were in Devon.
The first was a BIG crush on the arcade manager. I managed to get a few kisses in his office. Ha ha! Nothing much happened here. It was quite worrying though, if I remember rightly I was like 15 and he was 24. Nice...
The second a lovely Brummie guy who lived in that resort. Really liked him, sent him a few letters after etc - nothing. His stupid older brother stirred a lot of stuff up though.
The third which could have really went somewhere was this perfect gentleman from Coventry. (Mmmmmmm Northern boys! Think this is where it all started hee hee.) My mum approved of this one but I was still hung up on the other guy. He came and saw me, we went for a meal and went to see Chicken Run at the cinema - good indication of the year. Awwww! :D

I met a French man whilst on holiday in Mexico in 2004 and it was fantastic...
we came over to the UK a few times but due to the distance it fizzled out but i still think about him alot and wish i could find him, get back in contact....

I've had one or two that lasted beyond the holiday, but never became anything serious.
