My brothers PC has been hijacked due to kids going where they shouldn't.

Firefox will go to his homepage but IE goes to 404 dns . com.

Anyone know a registry fix on this? Think I had it once but can't remember now.

Get a 'HiJackthis' log and post on the Spyware Beware forum here (http://forums.maddoktor2.com/index.php). Some clever bod will sort out your problem, and any others too.

Download ad-aware from www.lavasoft.de and spybot search and destroy from http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html and install both. Run Spybot update it and do a scan in that. Once finished select everything it finds and fix them with the program. Then Run ad-aware and do the same. Keep both programs (they are both free) and scan at least once a month.

Copy the HijackThis log on here.

Somebody'll be able to go through it with you. It's not that difficult:thumbsup:

Download and update and run ewido (Antispyware by the AVG peeps)

Windows defender

And as Sccsux says post your log here or send to me direct and I will talk you through it.

What I meant was post the hijackthis log on the forum i mentioned (or here, as some have offered) and someone will advise from there. We need to know what the problem is if the usual software doesnt fix it.
