I read elsewhere that Trippets has closed. Is this true? If so it's a damned shame. Trippets used to be fun on a Friday & Saturday night. Lots of crazy 20 - 50 somethings dancing to iffy live bands.

Indeed if it wasn't for that place, I'd never have "emigrated" to this wonderful city.

Can anyone confirm or deny the rumours?

Well I work on that road and I haven't seen it open for ages. I sometimes don't finish until 10 at night either! It would be a shame if it has shut down as was a nice place.

I'm working tonight so I will see if there is anything up in the window or on the front of the place advising of what is happening :thumbsup:

I heard that the owner went bankrupt? My friend used to deliver his wine to him...

And my band wasn't iffy thank you!!!

Used to go there lots a long long time ago when all they sold was wine and it stayed open till whenever..

Awww! that's a shame, used to love the games nights with EManGrooving playing good sounds. I even recently posted on another thread saying I was going to arrange another night out there in September :(

Mind you - the owner almost told us to our faces we weren't welcome ... don't think we drank enough for his liking and we took up too much room with our games tournaments ...

Went past few days ago, application on door for late license and live music, so hopefully opening again sometime soon

I can tell you that Trippets has definately shut and changed hands in ownership and is being refurbished (to what extent i don't know). I saw a man inside painting the other day. Wonder if anyone knows when the opening night is and whether it'll stay as a back alley wine bar where you can go for a glass of wine with your bloke and have a sexy smooch via candle light.
