I just wanted to share this..................

Wheyhey! After 30 odd years I have finally learned to knit!
Mum tried to teach me years ago and it ended in a bust up. But now we're both older and calmer I've finally learned!

I've just knit a cardigan, booties, mittens and bonnet in DK (mum says I'm not ready for 4 ply or anything too exotic yet!) for my brand new nephew.
It looks like it does on the photo on the pattern too!

I'm very impressed with this knitting thing! Its such a fab hobby! Its calming after a pig of a day at work, stops me raiding the fridge or smoking on an evening.

 for knitting!

Congrats! I've not really delved into clothing yet but I do want to!

Congrats! Got any photos of the finished projects? We like photos :P

I'm knitting a cardigan at the moment for my baby sister, its my first proper attempt at clothing and i'm loving knitting baby clothes so far as it seems to be knitting up fairly quickly. I went for size 6-12months because i tend to dawdle abit with my knitting and go through phases of knitting every spare hour to once a week or fortnight. But i dont think i needed to now, the babys only 3 week old i started it last tuesday and i've nearly finished the biggest part, the back of the cardigan already.

Hi beckb and congratulations! Well, where are the photos then? ;) .

Baby clothes are fantastic to knit; the patterns are so sweet and they knit up incredibly quickly. I was only commenting on here yesterday that I'd spent some of the weekend drooling over the Rowan and Debbie Bliss baby patterns. The Miss Bea ones are gorgeous.

I'm going to have to wander over to the new parenting group on the forum and start looking for knitting opportunities :hihi: .

We'll have you knitting socks soon... :D .

But of course... Have you not been introduced to the subtle art and magnificent craft of sock knitting? You don't know what you're missing!

Here are a few of mine:
