no, doggies should be kept in at night anyway. I find if you should shutup or NO!!! at my dog he sometimes stops - perhaps you could try it.

Hi Jon
you dont live anywhere near Shirehall road do you???

I used to live on there and we had the same problem"dogs barking all hours of the day and night" and the owners didnt give a fig about it, it used to really stress me out, luckily i did the sane thing and moved off the estate alltogether. :o

There used to be a dog behind us who barked all day and night - there was no wonder though - he was just left in the back garden and his owner never gave him any attention. The poor animal didn't have any toys, so he used to ammuse himself by throwing his water dish around.

Fortunatly, they sold the dog, hopefully to a better home.

Now though, they've got a car alarm that goes off all night instead.

The good thing with living on an elderly estate - not many people have pets..!
We recently "inherited" a dog, but she's really quiet until she see's another dog or cat. Even then we don't let her out late at night or early in the morning.

Blame the dog owners, if they can't stop their dogs barking all night they shouldn't be allowed to keep one.

I agree. Our dog is very badly brought up and we cant stop it barking, but if we'd trained in properly instead of spoiling it im sure he would be far more obedient. (then again the dog that I DID bring up had to be put down for trying to kill people - but thats another matter) I find the most effective method is a clip round the nose with newspaper, it doesnt hurt them, it just annoys them.

My dog does.. :?
Just a couple of weeks ago, it had a cat by the neck. Luckily it was alright, but she's terrible with other dogs and cats, but is soft as a brush with people.

Tut, you swine. :D One of mines in a right mood today cos i combed her knots out - the others staying out of her way for a bit.

Anyway my dog was barking out side today and i thought of how annoyed other people must be, but think for how annoying it is for the owner. We get it louder than you and when we bring them inside we get it there too. Youre best off with a goldfish i tell you.

Thats the beauty of goldfish, no walks. They just sit in the corner of any room swimming around. My 2 have been alive for ages now (longest yet - about a year) and they always forgive me when i forget to feed them. Id say they were even better pets than cats but that would be going too far.

Jon

What would your fish do if one of your cats got a bit hungry?

kittykat
17-06-2003, 22:39
Yes i do.

I know no1 cares but i found out the other day why goldfish open and close their mouths all the time. When their mouths open, some cavity or other in their mouths raises the pressure inside their gills increases so it air enters and water passes over and then they have to close their mouths to reduce the pressure inside so air is forced out. I never knew they did it cos they were breathing i thought they were just saying bob.

Sorry to bore people.
