I find this so rude its untrue.. I swear to god.

Its right up there with telling someone something- like arranging a meeting or something and then either not turning up - without a simple text or call to say whats going off or even worse- telling you they meant another day instead.

Good god.
I am so totally not impressed right now.

Wait for an explanation prior to assuming. You could make a mistake, albeit, yes, it's very frustrating.

I think I know what you mean
I rang up an organization the other day about getting a certificate. One person there told me something, then later on her colleague denied that she could have said it
' We don't give information like that out, so you couldn't have
possibly been told that'!
I could hear her colleague in the background saying just tell him he will need to put it in writing.
Because people are trying to cover up a mistake or a perceived mistake they think it is ok to lie, mislead or bluff in some way instead of simply explaining or apologising.
If people were less scared of being wrong, if they were more honest communications would be a lot better.

This is one of my bug bears and really get on my nerves. It's a betrayal of trust and gets treated as such.

Isn't it annoying!!

Say what you mean and mean what you say!! Don't say one thing and do something completely contradictory!! Why bother? OOOh makes me mad!!
