I live in Wincobank and I find it a really nice place to live. Like most places it depends where you live, where I live theres a local shop its a bit annoying for supermarkets (about 3 miles to closest one since they closed Meadowhell sainsburys) and I need a car cos the hill I live on is ridiculous. Schools Im told there are some good primary schools in the area by my best friend.

Dont know if thats any help

I live at gleadless it gets alot of slagging of but it is just as good as any were else.
A lot of people on the thread pull it down ,but i've always come from of here ,yes it has changed over the years, but one thing i will say is if you need help people around here are very helpfull at times and you still get that hello of people on the street which is quite nice still.
The schools are very good around here ,if you have young kids bankwood school is a excellent place to send your kids ,get to know people and you will understand were i'am coming from hope this helps:love:

Hi,

I live at the Brightside end of Wincobank, I have been there 10 years and I really like it. I've never had any trouble and my neighbours are lovely. My son has just finished at Brightside School which he loved and is about to go to Limpsfield, also v good. When it comes to Hinde House (senior school) I'm not sure as it's reputation is not brilliant.

I find the area really central for getting to work (attercliffe) and into town, meadowhall and centertainment. Most of the places I use are in walking distance and also I'm not far from the M1 for further afield. We use Concord Sports Centre lots for swimming and holiday clubs and after school clubs. The local church St Margarets very near to me also holds quite a few events, and playgroups, and from September will have lots more to do with 'Sure Start' and will have things like ante natal classes and baby massage.

Most of the housing is 3 bed semi's which are still reasonably priced although rising all the time.

Hope this helps a bit.

the three places; Wincobank, Gleadless and Shiregreen, are nowhere near kiveton! Although possibly Gleadless is closest to Kiveton.

You have to either go on the M1 to kiveton, or along the A57 through sheffield to get to Kiveton.
