Help required..... having been given the great job at work of training someone. I have a dilemma!!! I am really enjoying having someone working with me on nights. So do i very slowly train this person so that I can have company for much longer. Or do i stop holding the the new member of staff back and let them get on with the job and work alone again!!!! Please help me

Probably need to let them crack on and get on with their job.....
Are you that lonely at night.....?!? Is there absolutely nobody else knocking about you can have the crack with......??
You need to let them get on with the job - if they feel held back then they'll probably feel resentful, your reputation as a trainer will go down the pan and your own prospects may suffer.
Are you always on nights or do you work other shifts as well?
If you're always on nights then perhaps you need to question whether you can sort out some sort of change to your job / shift patterns with your boss. If it's a night shift every few days or weeks and you have problems then perhaps you need to look at whether you're suited for shift work / the job.

Hey have you been talking to my boss? or are you my boss!!!
I have worked nights for 2 years now and although there are other people in the department, I am the only person doing my specific job. Time to let go of the "apron strings". It is time for my learner to go it alone and probably time for me to enter daytime sociable working hours.
