hello, we had one, a couple of years back and I was pregnant at the time, so didnt want chemicals etc spraying, so we just ignored it! - luckily the wasps didnt come in and I think that at the end of the summer months they hibernate or something.

They havent come back!

so I suppose what im saying is, dont worry, dont panic, they may just clear off on their own!

Father-in-law phoned environmental health and they came and shifted it for nowt.

Had one in our shed this summer and went to DEFCON 3, hit it first with a high pressure water jet - on a long wand! Then second waved it with the ole chemical barrage. Third wave with one of those things you can pull up that slowly releases somert that keeps the buggers from coming back!

Phone environmental health. It might not be a wasp's nest, they could be honey bees and all sorts.

Cheapest and easiest is the 'wasp nest powder'.
I had my doubts but if you identify the in/out hole (either in the building or nest) and 'puff' the powder all over it, the job is done!!!

All wasps will tread over the powder and carry it into the nest. I was surprised at how little was needed ....I did it in the evening and never saw any the next day or after!

£2.99 (http://www.pestfree.co.uk/rentokil-wasp-killer.htm)!

I did the same as cgksheff last week, the wasps were all dead after two days.
It cost me £2.95 for a plastic bottle of " Doff " wasp nest killer. You have to spray it on at dusk when the wasps are all tucked up in bed in the nest.
Take care and good luck!

The council charge £40 for wasp nests !

I got the " Doff " from Richardsons at Firth Park but the rentokil is just about the same. It has to be the powder if you cannot see the nest, or you can get a foam spray if you can actually see the nest

After many nightmares last night of the thought of hanging about until dusk tonight to climb a 10ft ladder at least to spray the powder at the horrible wasps, I took pauly's advise and called john at 9am this morning .

He came about 11ish and tonight there was not a single wasp in sight.
Would highly reccomend him to anyone with a similar problem, cheap but really proffesional.

We get wasp's here around summertime in Oz, at dusk, spray the nest with an ordinary fly spray, doing it at dusk ensures they are all at home & none are out there shopping for the pollen, easy job, especially if you live in a bungalow like us.

Burn em out. My dad tried that in the shed when i was a kid. A bottle of petrol a rag and a match. I'll leave you to work out the outcome on your own.:shakes: Still no wasps
