Mass murderer Dr Harold Shipman's family is demanding the killer GP's typewriter and medical bags back from police. How sick is it that they should try to get their hands on some of the equipment that the evil Dr used during his killing spree?

Just spotting a commercial opportunity, perhaps? Never underestimate the great British public's penchant for the ghoulish...someone will pay good money to put these on their shelves and boast about owning them.
They were my first thoughts as well Waltheof, but what makes it worse is that it's the family of Shipman who stand to profit from his vile crimes.
I can't remember ever seeing where one of them ever expressed any remorse for his crimes, can anyone else?
Is that they want to sell them or is it that they want to make sure they don't get 'lost' in police holdings and then mysteriously turn up on eBay?
I sort of think that if the only legacy a member of my family left me was of being related to a murderous SOB then why not sell off their possesions to the highest bidder? It must be difficult to shake off the stigma for the people who know they are related.
And to be honest, since the crimes are solved and justice is upheld as much as it can be under the circumstances, surely the police withholding the items is theft since they no longer have a legitamate reason for needing them?
Althugh I must admit, those who want to buy these items are sick so on that side of things, better not to sell them.
