There was a major car chase in and around Sharrow yesterday afternoon ( 1 pm ) with loads of police following and doing door to door enquiries. ( they got me out of bed). Does anybody know anything about it?

I highly doubt it. More likely chavs from the council tower block flats at the bottom of Cemetry Road.

Yeah, students are well known for their car crime.....

Makes me wonder what planet some people live on.

Students don't go around nicking cars. Nicking a traffic cone maybe, but not cars. Did you not see Traffic Cops the other night (and all the other nights its ever been on)? ALL the incidents in Sheffield are around the scabby parts with chavs in baseball caps nicking cars or driving without insurance/licences/tax.

Council flat ="chav"

Why so?

Define "chav".

Please explain this T020

I don't especially want to agree with t020 on this, but I think it's fair to say that most 'chavs' can be found in such places.

That's not to say that they aren't anywhere else, or that all people in council flats fit the stereotype... just that the incidence is higher.

Indeed. Well put, Tony.

The reason I posted this was the car chase seemed to be treated a lot more seriously than other car chased that happen around Sharrow. We had police around the area for several hours afterwards and they did door to door enquiries. We had dog vans out and the full monty.
